What I would have given for Amazon to say "**** Tolkien, that's been adapted. Let's do a billion dollar Dark Tower series."

And before you say "That's also been adapted," I have no idea what you're talking about.

The Silmarillion is pretty encyclopedic in its writing, but could provide the basis for some great content.

Maaan that would be so amazing. It was cruel of you to suggest such an awesome hypothetical!

Beren and Luthien would make good TV.

The world is ready for a Wheel of Time adaptation.. They need to get on this.

I so wanted that game when I was 12, it looked amazing. Not sure it could sustain an entire series though:

I would have also accepted an expansion to the 1989 Michael Moriarty movie.

Gringo: The Dangerous life of John McAfee I can't say it was a great documentary, but there is a series of clips @ about the 52:00 minute mark that really put a ****-eating grin on my face

Just saw Titan with Sam Worthington. Pretty good movie, it's not good enough to pay to see at a theater but good enough for a Netflix movie.

I was considering Titan, but I thought someone in the thread thought it was awful?

I maybe confused it with something else...

Oh man, I am hyped for this Troy ****. Netflix needs some ancient world redemption after the abortion that was Roman Empire: Reign of Blood.

Binged Bosch season 3 over the past few days and it was very good. Yes, it's still stereotypical loose cannon cop outta control type stuff, but the show pulls it off.

Also Season 4 releases on Friday I think.

Well it's a netflix movie. Don't expect big studio quality really. It's one of those one and done movies.

Gf and I are working our way through Mad Men. We both missed its original run because we were too busy having our respective lives destroyed at the time.

It's definitely as good as I'd heard. Being an old, I'm particularly impressed by the set design and costume details.

Also it's fun to say, "We're coming up to the part where I'm born" (on the time line).

The Seth rogen thing on Netflix is terrible. A mashup of 5 minute standup sets and skits that aren’t very funny with some serious stuff and a fella named post Malone. Good on him for doing something for charity, but the show isn’t worth a watch.

Man I watched like 3 or 4 seasons of it and then stopped when I got rid of cable years ago...now I don't really remember it well but also don't want to rewatch it.

I was told Troy is pretty bad which was disappointing as I love this sort of stuff. Let us know what you think.

"Get Out" on Prime was worth a watch. It's a horror movie that won an oscar for best original screenplay.

Some of the acting is cheesy but I still liked it overall. I don't really enjoy horror movies either.
