really? I thought it was really creative and original.
Spoiler:
the alien being cell like and not really having will but mirroring the people that went inside it was really good imo

Conor McGregor
Notorious

Was well put together, story of his MMA career from his beginnings until present day. Lots of behind the scene stuff before/after multiple fights as well as some well edited footage of the actual fights.

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and thought it was decently good.

Also, Rome did have some closure whereas Luck was just abruptly cancelled.

Finally watched "Beasts of No Nation" I know it's been ITT but if you're new here or haven't seen it, it's a great movie. I don't want to spoil it.

I also watched "Pirates of Somalia" and thought it was good. Aspiring journalist who goes to Somalia in an effort to get published. Ends up having some adventures of his own.

Four Seasons in Havana. Cuban noir cop 4 episode series. Cops all over the world in these are the same. Enjoyed it. Reminds me of Bosch.

Not sure if that had anything to do with the cancellation of the show though.
I really liked Muth, but Mandy Patinkin was the clear star of that show. His role as the leader of the reapers was fantastic, and his delivery of dry wit as well as his dispensing of lessons made every episode worth watching.

The movie is one of the worst abortions ever created. How you possibly decide to wrap up that series with a movie not including Patinkin is beyond me.

Game Over, Man

i loved workaholics, i think those guys are hilarious, but this was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. there were laughs, and there was a lot of gross-out humor, but overall it was super dumb and barely made sense. 2/5 stars

Apparently this has been out for a while but I don't check Amazon often. "Abacus: Small Enough to Jail" is a good documentary following the prosecution of a small NYC Chinatown bank for mortgage fraud post-2008 crisis. On Amazon obv.

I think the former is fine and the whole cultural appropriation thing is 100% dumb(as opposed to some other percentage of dumb), and I think the latter is equally dumb and just one of the many reasons Chang is just not a likeable guy at ALL. As someone else noted, he is basically a blowhard dickface.
Seriously, white people can't make fried chicken? Wtf is that?

Yeah I’ll confirm that Game Over Man is terrible garbage, even for big fans of Workaholics. Seriously don’t understand how anyone could think it was anything but horrible. 2/5 is actually pretty generous.

Watched Jessica Jones season 2. I liked season 1, but thumbs down on season 2. Reminded me a lot of the last episode of Sherlock

Spoiler:
Oh hey we have this fantastic villain, but **** we killed them off. What do we do now? Lets shoehorn in a disturbed family member from no where, and throw in the old villain for some random scenes

I also liked season 1 and I liked The Defenders.

Season 2 was pretty weird. I basically only finished it cuz I thought I was pot committed.

Yeah it was horrible. I chuckled a few times, but I couldn't finish it in one session. Love workaholics as well .

Has Netflix produced any good movies? I liked Ozark and have heard good things about Narcos. Some of their standup specials are pretty good, but is their original programming a net positive or no? I know they put a ton of money into it.

They seem to do it Google style-- a wide spread of various stuff and see what sticks. I truly love some of their originals, but there's a lot of crap.

Also, it's becoming harder and harder to differentiate their actual original content. A lot of "Netflix Originals" are simply finished products they bought the airing rights to and/or collaborative producer efforts with multiple studios.

Finally started Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld. Find most episodes really enjoyable (there are 60) and at ~15 minutes in length they doesn't require much time to fit into your schedule.
