I know I'm late to the party but I just finished Punisher.

It was ****ing amazing and downright epic. Loved the guy who played Frank Castle too.

great opportunity for everyone to watch the previous season ("in the city", ignore "aloha state")

give it a couple episodes and you'll be hooked, this is what reality tv should be
Aloha State starts slowly but gets quite good at the end. Likewise the new season (already well underway in Japan); lags a bit at first but one character in particular provides plenty of amusing intrigue a few episodes in.

I was pretty meh on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (dont think I finished them tbh). Is Punisher way better?

It is better than the other MCU Netflix shows by a fair bit(I've seen JJ and both seasons of Daredevil, plus like one episode of LC and one episode of Iron Fist), but it's still fundamentally not as good as like, network weekday procedurals. There's a weird disconnect where they don't really seem to have the proper TV showrunner mindset.

For the upcoming season, I give you: Yuudai. And if you haven't watched Aloha State all the way through, Cheri provides plenty of entertainment toward the end.

hot new netflix reality show releases tomorrow where the whole show is to try to manipulate one unsuspecting person into murdering someone

That sounds hard to watch.

Watched half of Wormwood tonight (three of six ~45 minute episodes), really interesting so far, but I hope that by the end we get some answers to the mysteries presented.

Full metal Alchimist movie was better than I expected still not great and they could have removed 30 min easy. Very Average movie at best, decent for a netflix movie.

The food show ugly delicious is awesome so far I've watched the first 2 and it's definitely top shelf quality.
the first episode was pizza, 2nd was tacos. they show one type of food all over the world and it's great, now I'm pissed that I can not have proper tacos in France

Watched 8/10 eps of Seven Seconds yesterday. Really excellent all around. The writers are absolutely fearless/tricky.

Let me know if you do. I watched the first couple I think, but gave up. Found it a bit slow.

Interesting Netflix are heavily promoting a show that aired two years ago. I thought it was a very enjoyable dark comedy & potentially interesting psychological study (potentially because I don't know how much editing etc. trickery occurred). There's a similar show where he tries to manipulate an innocent man into confessing to murder, I imagine Netflix will look into buying that if The Push is successful.

‘Pleased to announce that The Push will be shown on Netflix from Feb 27th worldwide,’ he said. ‘Two more specials will appear on Netflix later this year including a big brand new one, which I have just completed filming. Have been secretly very busy.’

Finished tonight. Regarding whether or not you get answers (putting in spoilers but doesn't actually spoil anything beyond an indication of how much resolution there is):

Spoiler:
Kind of, but not really. You get a sense of what happened (and it's not what the government says happened) but there is no neat bow tied on it.

I think it's a very interesting show, but definitely slow and I don't blame you for tuning out. It kind of meanders through its themes in a deliberately slow and methodical way where it's not clear where the series is ultimately going to end up, but does tie those themes together in the end in a way that makes the journey more than the sum of its parts. And that's in addition to the scary things it reveals to have been perpetrated by our government.

Spoilery edit:
Spoiler:
Finished last night. Really enjoyed the show. If you like things tied up in a pretty little bow, you'll be disappointed. I equate the ending to that of No Country For Old Men. Completely unsatisfying at first, but fitting, and the writers were most def not trying to please the audience. Fantastic job by all involved imo.

Has anyone watched "The Five"? Girlfriend and I stated watching it and we're 4/10 episodes through it. We like it so far but it's REAL hard to follow because it seems to be all over the place and there are a lot of characters.

Punisher very good. Not as epic as Daredevil S1, but better than any other season of any other Marvel Netflix show.
