It is not a spoiler to tell you that the movie is set in the near future, like 2030 or something, and none of it takes place in 2008 New York. That said, it is related to Cloverfield, but the same way 10 Cloverfield Lane was.

Did anyone actually like the original Cloverfield?

Dont understand the need to attach all this IP to a subpar movie.

I could write a novel on how bad Cloverfield Paradox is, but I'll just say I think it's the worst movie I've ever watched that is set on a space station

this article is pretty good :

it s more about the cloverfield marketing than the last movie itself, definitly worth reading.

Yeah it got hurt by every ****ty horror movie running the "found footage" gimmick into the ground but Cloverfield was fine at the time. Not great, but it had a monster, it had some mystery, stuff happened and it all mostly made sense.

But I don't have any idea what idiot thinks the concept of "off-brand Godzilla" was so compelling it needs a Cloverfield Cinematic Multiverse.

Jason X is worth watching as long as you then listen to the accompanying How Did This Get Made

The Snoop Dogg football documentary series is the greatest achievement in the history of unintentional satire.

The thing is the cloverfield branding may have gotten me to see the goodman what's her name movie, and the goodman what's her name cloverfield movie was pretty good. However it would be just as good without the tie in. And the tie in, in some way, spoiled the movie, but I digress.

I kinda like altered carbon, it doesn't really draw you in at the beginning so people are correct there, but I like a lot of bad crap so take it FWIW.

It's pretty agreed upon that 10 cloverfield lane was a good movie.

I probably never would've seen it without the name "cloverfield" in it, and the same goes for this most recent one.

That probably went into why I left this latest movie feeling so pissed off. Like **** you for making me watch that. I kept thinking it'd get better but it just didn't.

Kind of reminded me of star wars episode 1 in that way.

Wasn't Cloverfield also one of the first big time viral marketing campaign? I seem to remember it having kind of a treasure hunt component to it before it was released and a lot of Easter eggs.aube I had just never noticed before.

Yeah that's the real like tie-in between the movies(this is a spoiler I guess but nobody should care), the actual films take place in different timelines or slices of the multiverse, they don't share a setting or continuity.

The actual thing they have in common is wacky production/marketing gimmicks. Cloverfield had the trailer with no title and some of the first "ARGs" and internet guerrilla marketing, 10 Cloverfield Lane being part of the Cloverfield franchise was kept a secret from the people MAKING IT, it also was a pre-existing script that got "Cloverfieldized"(though that decision seems to have been made earlier in production than with Paradox which seriously appears to have at one point been a completed film with no connection), and then this one had the trailer-same day release bit.

Took most of the first season to really get going but now I'm starting season 2 and I'm hooked.

Dark - I watched all ten episodes. Same time looping issues as every other time travel show. Confusingly large cast operating in multiple eras. No real resolution at the end of this season either.

Netflix *really* wants me to watch Cloverfield Paradox -- a trailer for it pops up every time I launch the site. They must have paid a ton for it.

With the reviews here and a 17% on RT I think I'll pass.

Very binge worthy show. There were 16 45ish minute episodes. I really liked how it was filmed/style. The story takes place in 1920's Berlin and centers around a police detective and his investigation into a political sex scandal and train high jacking. With two episodes to go, my only complaint would be it could have used less dancing.

It is in subtitles unfortunately for some. Binge watching Narcos actually has allowed me to change my no subtitle stance. I think it takes a little bit of a learned skill to read and pay attention to the scene at the same time. Opens the door to some good shows like Suburra and Dark. Subtitles are also good to fall asleep to because you cannot understand whats going on in the show as soon as you close your eyes, eliminating half asleep spoilers. Voiced dubs are the worse and I can't see that ever changing.
