"Kolchak: The Nightstalker" now streaming (weird 70s show with Darren McGavin as a reporter investigating the paranormal)

Man,that was the **** when I was a kid,don't know how many times I stayed up late on Friday's to watch that and the b movies after the 10o'clock news.
CBS really put out the crap back then,but it was an enjoyable crap.

He liked the show as a kid,but the short story,"The Night Flier" has a Kolchak type character,but I don't think he has said its directly influenced by "The Night Stalker".

Same. I can remember begging my parents to let me stay up or even sneaking out of my room to watch it.

S3 of The New Girl and I am not liking the addition of Coach. I am in the middle of S3 so idk if he gets better. Also, no way Jess would ever date Nick, actually no smart successful person would.

That's my gripe with S3.

Can't believe no one has mentioned The Get Down yet.

I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish. I'm familiar with the musical history part and the era overall as it essentially gave birth to disco which gave birth to house music and of course the beginning of hip-hop...Which enormously influenced pop-cuture from then till now and still building - The seeds of it are all pretty much shown as they get planted and begin to grow in this series.

It's done in that slightly surreal Baz Luhrmann visual style making segments of it a lil' cartoon'ish in a sense - But it really works for this series which I guess is a musical in a sense albeit an incredibly modern one.

Just really really good imo and 100% worth checking out. Again can't believe noone has mentioned it yet.

I love Louis CK and I agree. The Comedy Store one was pretty much 'just okay'

Well, it's new to me!

It's definitely his weakest but still made me laugh, from what I remember. I also remember it being sort of experimental for him, trying out some new kinds of things that just didn't work.

lets be clear, louis at his worst is still better than alot of comedians.

I'm about half way thru this special and I'm enjoying it a lot. Maybe not as good as some of his other stuff but I've been laughing pretty consistently. I guess I just like all Louis CK stuff

If anyone's looking for kid shows, mine (6 & 3) both have been enjoying Story Bots (a Netflix Original).

Uh and also Beat Bugs which is a Netflix Original that is sort of like a mashup of Antz and Love (the Cirque show). Each episode sort of loosely based around 2 Beatles songs. There are much more annoying things to have on in background

Valley Uprising - A Documentary on the evolution of rock climbing at Yosemite. It was very good, those free climbers are insane. Even the climbers who are using ropes and clips, they are 1000'+ on the side of the rock, I would be paralized with fear.

fascinating investigative documentary about the secret messages hidden in The Shining. it has greatly increased my appreciation for stanley kubrick and the shining.

5/5 bags of popcorn. one of the good ones.
