yeah local distribution would be nice. they could just look at queues of people in the area to figure out what to stock the machine with. even if you didn't want what was available, you could return discs and have your next one sent.

I own the uncensored version on DVD
Spoiler:
( I believe they censored out Joker's death on the other one)
. Easily the best Batman cartoon movie.

not really impressed by the selection in the netflix instant movies although they are adding a bit more.

I'm a big fan of the old Columbo TV shows though and they have a majority of those on there now so watching a classic Columbo episode while grinding it out on the poker-tables ain't such a bad thing.

My new place where I have Comcast has some other free movies with their Comcast on Demand thing.
Again, the selection isn't that great. But between Netflix instant viewing and the stuff that's available for free on Comcast on Demand I end up with a a few decent options in there.

my wireless is a little sketchy and i can't even use this. every 5-10 minutes i get some stupid message saying my connection has changed and then it makes me wait 10 minutes before it starts playing again. its bull****, i never have this problem with other streaming programs, **** netflix.

Yeah, I was getting this for a little while too before I got my high-speed at my place and was instead using the Verizon Wireless Air-card.
I was confused by it also. It would got fine for however long and then it would crap out and sometimes would say that its exepcted buffering time would be 3 hours and 17 minutes or something ridiculous. This would happen after I had watched 2 or 3 straight movies without a problem. But it seems like if you have the teeniest mini-disconnection or something it freaks out and doesn't know how to get it back.

I don't believe I had this problem while actually playing poker at the same time though. I only got it when I wasn't doing anything else on the computer at the time and was only watching the movie.
Small sample-size though.

I went to watch Quantum Leap S1 the other night but found out that disc1 is only available through the mail while the rest are available to watch instantly.

This seemed a bit odd

yeah I saw this for some other series and was like "eff this." I'm assuming they're having licensing issues with particular producers/writers/actors.

yeah, they had done this for Columbo too but now some of Season 1 is available.
What's weird is that it only has maybe half of the episodes, seemingly random, available for instant-viewing while the others I can have shipped to my house if I really wanted.

Since Columbo isn't really a continuing story-line it works out okay but it just seems weird to offer Season 2 for instant-viewing but you can only watch every other episode pretty much.

By far my greatest enjoyment of the "Watch Instantly" feature is watching every episode of 30 Rock, season 1, which I did not watch at all on TV after the pilot episode, which was inexplicably weak for such an excellent show.

bump for The King of Kong

I have been highly recommending this movie, and now that it's available to watch instantly there's no excuse not to see it.

there's a whole thread on this (with spoilers), but basically it's a documentary about a guy trying to break the all-time high score for Donkey Kong. however, it turns into a bitter rivalry of old guard against new with very clear villains and heroes. as daryn said, you will end up rooting for this guy harder than you've rooted for anyone else in your life. do not miss!

Was really bored tonight and decided to check out the Watch Instantly option. So far have watched King of Kong, Cocaine Cowboys, Word Play and Champion (about Danny Trejo). Quality is really good and I have enjoyed all these movies so far. Not sure what to watch next.

I hop they get more TV seasons on here. I would love for any HBO season to be added, I'm assuming HBO won't let them. I have been watching Dexter S1, The Office S2, and Heroes since I have never seen that either.

Buying out redbox would be a great idea. It looks like they are already starting to branch out a little bit with the instant viewing, so maybe we will see a drop off location in the near future.

Only issue is internet service being fast enough.

ABC.com is already offering episodes of Lost in HD.
I've watched them on my TV and besides some minor software problems the quality is nearly the same as any other 720p HD.

Streaming 480p should be a breeze at this point.

Link to the thread? If you can't find it what forum is it in?

Also another vote for King of Kong and Cocaine Cowboys.

Check out Paris, Je T'aime on the instant. It's about 20 5-minute short films all about Paris done by a bunch of different name directors, from all over the world. Pretty damn awesome, some of them are meh but many are at least entertaining if not really damn good. Alexander Payne's is my favorite by far and it's worth watching the whole movie just for his... imo ofc.

La Vie En Rose is up, best actress this year. Also watched Letters from Iwo Jima. Also Penn & Teller's Bull S@#$ is up there, watch the prostitution ep in Season 4. Also watch 30 Rock.

Also to burst your bubble, there was some very interesting editing going on in King of Kong.
