just watched this and liked it quite a bit. not sure it is properly categorized as a "thriller" however

Anyone watched "Life on Mars" yet? Only 8 episodes in, but it's been pretty compelling so far, despite some flaws. The premise is that some modern day cop is struck by a car and somehow this seemingly transports him to 1973, though there's fragmentary evidence it may all be an illusion. In any case, he then spends each episode trying to figure his way back to 2008 as well as adapt to his new environment, where everyone thinks he's a new transfer to the local police department from "upstate." Harvey Keitel and Gretchen Mol have prominent roles.

I watched Bill Hicks "Sane Man" today. The comedy itself was very good but for some reason they decided to super-impose home movies of Hicks doing things like driving a motorcycle over parts of the performance so you can't concentrate on either what you are hearing or seeing. The sound quality is also pretty poor. It's not unlistenable, but at times it is a bit distracting.

I am tired of every other comedy performance film I see lately being ruined by directors who think they have to spice up the comedy by cutting away to production pieces that relate to the jokes that were just told, which interrupts the flow the comic worked so hard to develop on stage. If a comic tells a joke about being on a subway, I don't need to see him on a subway to appreciate the damn joke.

Watching Bones right now.

Show has goofy acting in the first season but gets really good in the last few episodes. Almost through season 2 now and like 6 more to go.

zero

I wonder if Netflix will jack up their price or offer an add-on service for their original content.

This was horrible. My girlfriend and I both agree. Usually I like movies that take place in the same location for the majority of the film (ie; Phone Booth, Exam, Cube, etc.) but this was just an hour and a half of my life gone that I will never get back, wtf.

They really should be trying to figure out how to actually have new releases streaming as new releases/added instead of 20yr old movies as new releases/added.

Watched monsters after reading this thread. I enjoyed it, however I could see if someone was expecting a monster and action filled-destruction-of-the-world kind of movie they could be disappointed. I guess you need to go in with the right expectations, I was happy with it.

Also watched Frozen. Wish I didnt.

i have been watching a show called bizarre foods with andrew zimmern. prettymuch the whoe show focuses on eating exotic stuff, and there is very little bull ****. i hate food/cooking shows that have very little food related content.

I think i might give trailer park boys a go. is it any good? I like breaking bad, uk office, flight of conchords, etc...

hard to imagine you not enjoying Trailer Park Boys. If I were you I'd watch the first movie, then the tv series, then the last movie.

Have you gotten to the episode with the giant worms pulled out of the tree yet? (I'm not making this up).

Watched a bunch of episodes of a travel show called Thumbs Up

Basically it's this asian artist David Choe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Choe)
running around with his cousin hitchhiking and jumping on freight trains trying to get from one side of the US to the other. It's a VBS production so same vibe as vice guide and such. He's a degen at life and a gambling degen so its pretty entertaining but not sure how real it is.
