Alphago was great. Nice recommendation.

I was hoping the alphago doc would be more technical. Still enjoyed it though.

Spoiler:
Watched these games live despite never witnessing a game of Go before. Still got a bit emotional after G4 on the rewatch. Sedol is amazing.

Binging Comedians in Cars and was really sad to see the Garry Shandling episode was titled "It's great that Gary Shandling is still alive"

Agree completely. Laughed a lot during the first set and the end of the second.....wow.

Finished this yesterday. Very solid series and the second ep was extremely insightful. Really explains the allergy epidemic well.

How come Netflix, doesn't change their business model and move everything to streaming? Have two tiers, current and the other that includes what is now the dvd business? I am sure they have the technology to limit how many of the dvd's you watch

It just seems like the current dvd model is so inefficient for a technology company like netflix to be doing it this way. There must be something I am missing and it probably has to do with licensing.

I'm guessing but I would guess that bandwidth is a consideration and also that there are different fee structures for streaming something and renting it like and old school Blockbuster. You can rent anything on a disk but to stream that content would be cost prohibitive due to licensing agreements.

Netflix still does DVDs?

I really liked "End of the ****ing World." British dark comedy, eight 20 minute episodes. Two weird teenagers decide to run away, and the guy thinks he is a psychopath and and mainly tags along because he decides the girl would be interesting to kill.

As long as there is still content on disc that isn't readily available streaming, the disc business can and should exist. It's to a large extent a different product, and possibly a different market (people with DVD/Blu players and slow internet).

There are also special features on disc which are not streaming and may never be.

They also basically tried to get rid of the DVD business once and everybody freaked out, causing the stock to plummet.

Cant wait to get around to starting this up. Glad to hear good things about it. I just need to finish season 2 travelers which I'm 7 episodes in. Travelers has been solid so far.

teased this in another thread, but there's an actress in 'end of the F***** world' that should be more recognizable.

yep:

Letterman has talked, in rare interviews, about how he doesn’t miss the grind of a nightly show. Perhaps with that in mind, Netflix will present a new episode with a new guest every month. And yes, it's taking the title seriously. Future guests include George Clooney, Tina Fey, Malala Yousafzai, Howard Stern and Jay-Z.
just watched the obama ep, fantastic. if you didn’t think it was possible to feel more glum about trump, this will help you get there.
