Anyone else watch Alice in Borderland? Two episodes in and it rocks.

People in Tokyo suddenly become players in a massive video game and they have to play - or else a red laser beams comes down from the heavens and kills them.

Yup. Definitely solid for that type of "teens" action show. But alas, like most of these shows, the premise is actually more interesting then the ensuing narrative. Worth a (guilty) watch though

I Care a Lot Netflix movie that started out great and then started going off the rails about halfway through. It was a train wreck by the end. Not sure why I even watched it, almost every Netflix movie sucks.

Just watched the movie "Croupier." Had never heard of it. Had several coincidences while watching it. I recommend it. Running on Showtime this month.

With Clive Owen? Love that one. Clever little film.

It’s a Sin was solid. I learned some things about AIDS that I wasn’t aware of and it was interesting to see the UK approach to the disease. It’s obviously a sad show but also a very meaningful one.

watched it yesterday and didn't mind it. after the first 30 minutes thought it was going to be one thing, my opinion changed as it went along. several 'wtf are you doing?' or 'that would never happen' moments but the ending was satisfying to me. obviously more of a darkish comedy than a serious movie.

I was OK with how much I had to suspend my disbelief for I Care a Lot. Nothing amazing beyond the performances of Dinklage and Pike, but certainly worth a watch.

I found the casting really interesting. I instantly hated Pike's character and instantly liked Dinklage's, just based on the roles they've played in the past. They are both pretty garbage people and we shouldn't be rooting for either of them, but I definitely found myself rooting for Dinklage, and I assume most people will be rooting for one of them.

Couple years late as I like to do, started Billions on Prime. Good start, but I remember some posts saying it turns bad.

Lupin is pretty damn great...how can you not love a French master thief who's out to avenge his father?

Also thought it fell off the rails and agree with your take on most Netflix originals.

I'm looking through a list right now and regarding ones I've watched in the past year or so that were not terrible. The Devil All the Time was a decent one. Spencer Confidential was also good. The Wrong Missy was definitely not good but watchable once if you have the time to kill and looking for that type of movie. Trial of the Chicago 7 was good. My five year old enjoyed "We can be Heroes".

Just recently watched Hillbilly Elegy. It's a reasonable one time watch as well with decent acting.

Anybody watch "The White Tiger" yet? imdb score 7.2 and the trailer looked decent. I'm considering that one at some point.

Amazing how many they've put out when looking at their wiki list. They really do put out a high rate of garbage among a few reasonable films.

btw, someone suggested "Dead to Me" as a follow up to my watch and comments on the HBO show Barry. I finally watched both seasons and while it's not on Barry's level I'll watch a 3rd season if they put it out. Season one was better than season 2 but I enjoyed the show overall for the most part.

If you like it now, you'll like it even more later imo, assuming you haven't finished s1 yet. As I watched s1 I remember thinking it was decent, not amazing, then the finale of 1 really sealed the deal for me and the show mostly only got better from there, with s2 being especially strong. I've only watched through the end of s4 but up to that point it hasn't turned "bad" albeit I haven't read or heard anything about the fifth season yet. I'd be curious to rewatch it all now that I know a little bit about the market and trading, as opposed to near zero prior to the pandemic.

Found Murder Among the Mormons a worthwhile and interesting watch. The three episode length was perfect and avoided the problem some of these Netflix docuseries have had of being too long (Evil Genius the most glaring example). Definitely something where it's best to go in cold.

Yeah it's interesting especially with the stuff with GME still going on in the real world.

I'm 1 episode into the 2nd season now I'm still enjoying it.

I'm glad someone mentioned Croupier. Twenty years ago I lived near a small theater that showed smaller independent films. I never got around to watching it then so I got around to watching it yesterday. Clive Owen is great. And the movie holds up well over all these years. And is an eye opener to the kinds of people that go to casinos in any era.

Finished season 1 of deadwood about 2-3 eps in season 2.

to be honest, i thik its good, writing s2 is a bit harder to understand with the jargon amped x2.

i think its so far been a good show, but nothing entirely amazing or goaty, ll finish the series since there s a movie but was expecting a tad "more"

all in all still a solid show and im only a few eps in s2 now so we will see

It is hard for me to understand how everyone doesn't realize Sopranos is GOAT, but I can see some not getting the greatness of Deadwood.
