For the music people in here, Song Exploder is very good. Only 4 episodes right now.

It's based on the Song Exploder podcast which has dozens of good episodes. The host was also the co-host of the West Wing Weekly podcast.

I watched the REM episode and really enjoyed it. I didn't know about the podcast so I will have to check that out.

REM is on the podcast with a different song (Try Not To Breathe). Great place to start.

Apple TV Plus Free Subscriptions Will Extend Through February 2021

"Meanwhile, for those who signed up for an Apple TV Plus monthly subscription prior Nov. 1, 2020, Apple will issue a $4.99 credit each month through February 2021"

https://variety.com/2020/digital/new...21-1234797940/

I have already used my Free trial and think I paid for a month at some point, not 100% this applies to me but I just subbed anyway, was going to this month anyway to catch up.

I guess I will have to wait until next month to see if they start applying 4.99 credit to my account the next few months.

4 eps into Evil and I'm enjoying it. Thought it would be really stupid honestly, so the bar was pretty low going in, but I like the characters and the plots have been decent

Song Exploder is awesome. Can’t wait for more episodes. I started listening to the podcast and while it is great too they seem to go into more detail on the Netflix series.

I remember watching a bunch of stuff on Youtube about that Chris Watts case a few years ago. Noticed there's a doc now on Netflix.

I still can't even grasp on any level how someone can do that to their own kids with their bare hands no less.

Oktoberfest: Beer and Blood pretty decent so far 4 episodes in. Had no idea what it was about and no expectations going in. Just popped up on my recs. Worth a watch.

Only thing that sucks is Im having the same issue I did when watching Dark. Paying so much attention to reading the subtitles that I keep losing track of who the characters are and which family they belong to. Have had to go back and watch a few scenes over again

Have you watched the BBC's, I, Claudius? Quite old now, but still regarded as one of our greatest TV shows, and has an insane cast. It's about the early Roman Empire.

Indeed! It took me a bit to get past the production values, but yeah that's a great program. I eat up anything about the ancient Mediterranean. Also just finished a re-read of Ghost on the Throne by James Romm, detailing the bloody succession struggle after the death of Alexander.

Yeah it feels more like watching a play, which is apt considering the cast are some of the finest Shakespearean actors of their generation.

Following on from the theme of My Octopus Teacher, not sure if there's more than a local interest in this but, Last Breath is an unreal docu-film. It happened in 2012 in the North Sea.

Sat divers are totally nuts in my opinion, but do the jobs ROV's can't.

David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet is absolutely heartbreaking, and makes me weep for what we've done to the environment and wilderness of the natural world.

Last Breath was great. We had a discussion on it here somewhere, probably the lounge movie thread.

Indeed.

I'm equally amazed at how sharp and passionate he is at 93.
