For s1, anyway. I still can't speak to s2.
Season 2 adds another level to the complexity. Definitely continue if you enjoyed season 1. The show runners know what they are doing. The third season will be its final season, so they have planned all this out.

I've watched season 1 of dark and have enjoyed it and am looking forward to season 2. A big thanks to those above that recommended it.

Watched most of Hyper Hardboiled Gourmet Report from rec here and think it is fantastic.
The guy up in the corner commenting makes it. If he isn't there it is just like any other doc. Definite A and quite thought provoking, as it deals very little with what they eat, but it is still the main reason they are there.

I found the descriptions of people refreshingly honest, without talking down about them. Mexican gangster, Black gangster, Russian criminal, Former child-soldier, Taiwanese mafia, etc. The Liberian hooker was quite sad, ****ing for a meal essentially, then rinse repeat.

By far the funniest moment for me was when the Black gangster had recently gotten out of jail and went to see his family after like 6-7 years and he goes in the house and the kids are all happy as ****, but his 'together' ex who has obviously worked her ass off on her own to provide for the 3 kids is just ignoring the hell out of the guy, like won't even look at him for most of the segment. She then starts to make food and the caption says something like 'Ex Black gangster lady makes unattainable food' and just cracked me tf up. Highly recommend.

Checked out Russian Doll on Techgara.
Coming in under the radar in Netflix's Feb. 2019 releases, this dark, druggy delight subverts a ton of traditions to positive results. A lot of that comes from audiences coming in hopefully-cold, and getting surprised by the show's premise and inner workings, so let's stay spoiler-free. The first thing you should know is that Russian Doll is the funny and emotional the series that Natasha Lyonne (its star, co-creator, writer, and director) has long since deserved, as she's spent most of her career as a co-star and not a lead. Next up, as Todd VanDerWeff pointed out, Russian Dolls goes beyond having a strong, brash female lead, and places men in supporting roles — that aren't quite fleshed out, but help drive the story — typically made for women.

Wrote reviews in the movie thread and highly recommend Ladybird and the Florida Project. Both 9/10.

finished stranger things season 3. Nowhere near the quality of seasons 1 or 2, but still enjoyable even tho it's a disappointment in terms of quality.

Spoiler:
The only good thing about the fact Hopper was so over the top the entire season was it made the ending easier to handle. Also wtf, why the hell can't Steve ever catch a break, making Robin a lesbian was just really annoying. I thought the end after the credits was dumb too, whats with the whole "no, not the american" part? Is this going to be some stupid thing where Hopper isn't actually dead? and I'm not very optimistic about a season 4 given how big a step down this one was. This is one of the few times I won't be upset if Netflix doesn't make a season 4.

Into the Spiderverse is absolutely fantastic, and doesn't lose much on the smaller screen...it is a complete joy.

Is it too mature for my 5 year old daughter? She's seen both Incredibles.

Its probably fine. Theres no bad language or sex stuff. The action scenes are too fast to be overly intense imo. She would miss some of the more overt themes, but at that age it doesnt really matter

Thank you! I haven't seen it yet, and would rather watch it with her than watch it by myself.

This might be true, the scenes with the prowler and the end fight scene are a tad intense.

Spambot raises an interesting point there, though personally didn't like Russian Dolls I think some others did when we discussed it a while ago. WE BEING REVERSE FAILED BECHDEL TESTED BROS.

Dark is really incredible.

My wife had her watch the live action Dumbo tonight and she was in tears when Dumbo was taken from her mother, so she fastforwarded to pretty much the end of the movie. I wasn't home so I didn't get to see it.

She watched the original Dumbo like 2-3 years ago, but I don't think she was as aware as she is now.

Always be my maybe was surprisingly good, and keanu reaves was brilliant

probably been discussed a bunch, but I'm too lazy to scroll back Dead to me was decent, but I couldn't get passed how incredibly lazy and contrived the writing was so ultimately got bored and stopped with about 5 eps left.

Always be my maybe was incredibly well written. Ali Wong is a very very funny woman.

+1 for Calibre. Surprised it hasn't received more attention itt.

Nothing particularly original in the story, but thrillers are all about the execution and this one nails it.

Just finished Bad Blood season 2. One of the best seasons of television I’ve ever watched.
Definitely worth watching seasons 1 and 2 if you haven’t. The show is a Canadian produced show about the Mafia in Canada.

My 5 year old boy and 4 year old daughter have watched Spiderverse about 10x now. My girl did find the end a little scary when we saw it in the theater, I think shes over that now.
