I think the new BM episodes just weren't that inventive or original compared to prior seasons, also not very dark and twisted. Still a decent watch tho compared to most of the crap Netflix has been cranking out. Thought the Miley one was probably the most well rounded story. Topher one was weakest.

Yeah the thread title wont age well. Disney is gonna have tons of stuff to review here. Star wars series and more incoming.

TBH I'm assuming WarnerBros will turn game of thrones into a star wars type franchise. It would be stupid not to as there's so much potential for sequels, prequels, etc.

It's hard not to compare it to earlier episodes. Black Mirror is a hit and miss for me, but my personal favorites tend to be earlier in the series. Agreed though, this season was decent.

Finally getting around to watching mindhunter. God damn this is a good series. Just over halfway through and can't find a flaw. Great performances, story, cinematography, and casting.

I felt like I was watching a different show tbh. In particular Smithereens was really disappointing because the story was so thin. The hook was that we wanted to know what he needed to say to Bauer, and it turned out to be anticlimactic and unimaginative.

For me it's at rock bottom of all episodes.

I didn't discover Black Mirror until a long while after the 3rd season was out, but I watched them all and loved the show. I had been looking forward to the new season of BM for months and I found it to be... disappointing.

No big "WOW WTF?!!" moments like so many of the earlier season episodes and of the 3 new episodes, the only story line that I thought couldve been very good (Smithereens) flamed out into nothing. Without rewatching every past episode, Im thinking all three of the new ones would end up in my bottom five.

What did surprise me, was that Miley Cyrus actually seems to be a pretty damn talented actress. Was not expecting that

I am Mother got a bunch of positive reviews in the Lounge movie thread. I didn't like it but I am not a sci fi guy so it was well out of my wheelhouse.

I am quite enjoying the Chef Show with Jon Favreau and Roy Choi. It's a very casual environment and just two guys cooking and working with some big names (both in the culinary world and hollywood). If you like cooking shows or food shows, this is worth a watch IMO.

It is always strange to me that Netflix has so many bland original movies. They have deep pockets and can scoop up any great material that comes out on Blacklist etc but everything feels so meh. It will look great in terms of production and have name actors but no real style, edge, or lasting influence etc. Its like watch it and forget it. Maybe that's their goal.

Speaking of Mother, I am watching the South Korean film Mother which is leaving tomorrow. It is very good so far, about halfway through. Pretty sure I added it because of this thread.
