less story lines, more streamlined. less nudity.

The Last Kingdom

Really liked it. It feels like if Game of Thrones was done on FX instead of HBO. Definitely some cheese and obvious cliff hangers between episodes. Felt pretty similar to History Channel's Vikings.

Most of the cast is excellent for their roles. The medieval world they created was well done. One of the best aspects of the show was that it's based around real events and people. Uhtred storyline is fictional but many of the people he interacts with were real people. Thought it was great how they introduced a region by using its 900AD name and merging it into the present day name. I really thought the music was well done and I don't typically even notice something like that.

Alfred is my favorite character. Disliked Skade (probably minority opinion). Most of the Vikings were great.

also enjoying The Last Kingdom. my favorite character is the grimy son of the old king who gets drunk and sleeps in the stables, that guy ****in rocks. i also really like how utred the godless is the most blasphemous character on tv, constantly scoffing and demeaning christianity and the king is super pious but puts up with him

How do the seasons rank? Is the netflix season better or the same?

I say 3rd season is equally good to the first 2 seasons. All the same cast and production.

If you are into historical dramas, it should be good.

With all this Last Kingdom talk, it feels like we have a shill or two for Netflix.

skade's character was kinda dumb. but she was just so ridiculously hot.

GET SHORTY is actually a hidden gem, don't expect anything major but it super solid for it being on a no name ****ing channel, definitely something to consider watching if you get a chance. has very little relation to the movie even tho i guess it DOES have the same story where hitman/mafia try to get a movie produced (not a spoiler)

woudl def reccomend and you can tell after ep 1 or 2 if you like it or not.

I haven’t seen s2 or 3 of Last Kingdom but I can’t imagine it’s better than Mad Men.

Mad Men is one of the GOAT. Still, Last Kingdom has moar viking battles.

Too many LK questions. Just go watch it. It's a fantastic show. Doesn't really matter or not whether it's better than some old show where dudes dress up fancy and drink whiskey and talk about nonsense. Just go watch it. Wife and I are on a 3 episode/day pace.

i also should have said no syfy magic/dragon stuff. so there really isn't anything to make it look low budget.

its just a good middle ages show, with the main character fictionalized in a world of real historical characters.

Team Skade 4 life. I'd watch a whole show of just her

1 Easily has the best vikings in it. Ubba especially. S2 has the worst vikings. Thought the actor who played Canute in S3 was very good.

S1 also has the Guy who calles Uthred Arseling and is the best best friend of Uthred.

Also my favourite scene in the 3 seasons is when Uthred cuts down his forman and shouts "This, this is Justice!"

Am I the only who's not finding the newest season of F is for Family funny?

The jokes have taken a darker turn. In the first season were much lighter and focused on the interaction between members of the main family. The recurring characters (with the exception of Vic) that are now playing a bigger role simply aren't funny.

interesting story, worth the time, seemed a little amateurish though.

bill is my fav comedian ever and I absolutely love him, however I don't like F is for family at all.

I've tried it a few times and it's just not funny.
