I feel like most people got a way different feeling about wild wild country than I did.

Spoiler:
I felt like the original motives of the group were fairly sound. Of course the Bentley thing was very weird, but I wonder what would have happened had the government and local town accepted the religion. The only super ****ed up things seemed to be in retaliation to super ****ed up things Governments were doing to them.
They definitely were sinister at the end, but there was also an absurd overstepping by the local, state, and federal governments

Hoagie, I'd say that's a pretty common take.

I didn't realize they were all written by Taylor Sheridan, who also played Chief Hale on Sons of Anarchy. They're all great movies though. Dude has some serious talent.

I hated Longmire but think Wind River is fantastic. I tried to watch Longmire but it felt redundant and boring.

Yeah, theres only so many ways to solve the mysterious dead body on the rez, but Sheriff does not have jurisdiction yadda yadda.

But, I am a sucker for pretty much any drama set in the West, or in Space, that has acting and good production.

I did this myself a couple of weeks ago. I think each was only 6 episodes? Can't remember but I did enjoy all of it. I'm hoping for S3

very glad i was just watching it in the background while playing video games, otherwise would have been a complete waste of 2 hours.
I wanted to watch this because it's a genre I like but after seeing how it was rated couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.

My bf and I both thoroughly enjoyed watching this also.

Regarding Longmire, I have watched a fair whack of it and do intend to finish it at some point. I realise it's not top-tier tv but I enjoy it regardless. I think we're all a bit spoilt really telly wise. My bf didn't get into it though.

Watched "Trump An American Dream"

It is great. Lots of footage documenting Trump from his start in the 80's all the way to his announcement that he is running for president.

Spoiler: He wins the election and becomes the 45th President of the United States.

I usually love these historical type dramas, but I found this show incredibly boring. Got through 4 episodes and nothing made me care about any of the characters or anything that was happening. I kept waiting for some kind of plot to develop and it never really did

Wild wild Country is great

What a story

Edit: Looooool just saw the ending where it's now a YoungLife camp which is essentially a cult. Nice jab there at the end

After battling Netflix for rights to bring the popular series to the small screen, [Amazon’s] groundbreaking negotiation guaranteed a five-season commitment of J.R.R. Tolkien's adaptation, making it the "most expensive TV series ever."
On Nov. 13, Amazon Studios beat out Netflix for a $250 million rights deal with the Tolkien estate, publisher HarperCollins and New Line Cinema that includes a five-season commitment to bring The Lord of the Rings to the small screen. With the clock ticking, Amazon must be in production within two years, according to the terms of the pact. When production expenses like casting, producers and visual effects are factored in, the series is expected to cost north of $1 billion.

1 billion had better be enough to include Tom bombadil.

I read somewhere that it's not going to be about anything that was in the books.

It's going to be a completely new story based on the universe though it will likely feature characters we know like Gandalf, Aragorn etc. Likely set sometime before the events in The Hobbit.

This article says before The Fellowship or the Ring, so the 50 years in between the Hobbit and FOTR are fair game as well I guess.

That's good news imo. I was struggling to see how an even more drawn out version of tlotr would be at all exciting given everyone knows the story and its a pretty straightforward one. Even going back to the silmarillion or something (which I haven't read, would it make a good show?) they'll still need to stick in a few unexpected deaths and lots of gratuitous sex to make it palatable to modern viewers.

I just watched the first Episode of Ugly Delicious. While I like the content, I think DC can be a bit much. How does the rest of the series look like and is it worth it to continue?
