I think it's mainly Netflix with the occasional veering off into other telly, which is pretty standard when discussing shows. Also netflix can be different from country to country so there's that.

This seems like a pretty good reason to change it imho. Since there’s so many streaming services now we might be limiting discussion for no real reason.

Rome season 1 is one of the best seasons of any tv show ever. Who knows what seasons 2-4 would have looked like if there wasn't a compressed season 2. Even still, season 2 of Rome is better than Luck by any metric.

Luck is one of those HBO/Showtime shows that gets an Oscar winning actor, showrunner from very good show(or Oscar winning writer), and a washed up Director and uses that to sell the show. It was going to be canceled regardless of animal concerns due to poor ratings.

i'm in favour of moving the thread to OOTV and having it be a general streaming thread. and having it so you don't have to specify the site if it's netflix.

Finally watching Tom Hardy's pet project Taboo. I waited until it hit Hulu because FX actually has commercial breaks (which are extremely jarring when watching a period piece).

It's a weird, slow burn, but I'm absolutely hooked. The kind of show that gnaws on your mind days afterward. Written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and Tom Hardy's dad, filled with a cast of "that one guy" actors. Highly recommend if you're into period pieces filmed in a modern style (a la The Knick).

Leave our **** alone. Not all of us want to wade in there. This thread has it's place. Everyone who posts here regularly understands it's a thread where you can post a good show or movie regardless of the provider.

Amazon’s quest to best HBO by creating a show even bigger than Game of Thrones just took an intriguing new turn. The platform got a head start on its journey last year, when it partnered with J.R.R. Tolkien’s estate to create a Lord of the Rings TV series—a pricey bet that could cost up to $500 million. (The rights alone reportedly went for a cool $250.)

Now, the company is reportedly adding another potentially massive asset to its lineup: according to the Financial Times, Amazon is in talks to adapt the popular Chinese book series The Three-Body Problem into a three-season show. How much will that cost? A smooth $1 billion.
