Maybe at a stretch if you were watching a Scottish show like Rab. C Nesbitt you might need them. Personally I find Scottish accents easy to understand but I could see why some may find it difficult. Speaking of Scottish shows Still Game is worth a look at. Quite enjoyable comedy.

Seven Seconds -
Great down the stretch and I was worried that they would ruin it with the ending as I watched.

Spoiler:
The ending was major disapointment. There is no way he would get 1 year with 30 day parole option for death by auto and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
What a complete joke.

It's totally worth it to see Paul Rudd's performance and to puzzle over why it's a set in the same cinematic universe as Moon. I want an incredibly dark prequel where we see the previous adventures of the two Army doctors turned criminals that get briefly mentioned(whatever Rudd meant when he talked about Kabul).

I hate that Chang guy, and I'm sick of food shows. Enough with the food already, it's tasty, we get it. No need to fetishize it.

I really enjoyed Altered Carbon. I’m a sucker for anything close to Noir. Might read the books. Going to start Peaky Blinders with the lady next. Any good?

Agree with the ugly delicious love here, probably the best thing to hit netflix in a month. Everyone I’ve recommended it to finished it as well, in particular the family episode hits a note for anyone who grew up in an asian American household or close to it

Peaky Blinders better than Altered Carbon imo, but I wouldnt call Peaky Blinders noir.

I just finished ep5 of Babylon Berlin, and while I have enjoyed it so far, I feel like I'm missing all of the nuance in the dialogue because I'm relying on the subtitles.
Just seems like I'm missing things that maybe should be humorous, or should be giving a deeper glimpse into some of the characters

I watch everything with subtitles. I always feel like I'll miss something if I don't. Most people think I'm psychotic.

I'm the same way, but I have a hard time hearing dialogue especially if the characters are speaking in low/whispered voices.

I watch everything w/subtitles but mostly because I tend to watch TV with low volume when my kids are sleeping. Unfortunately I think it's impacted the way I experience some shows and movies.

When did movies/tv shows start doing this? It seems like it's very difficult to hear a lot of the dialog in most shows anymore. You can barely hear the characters talk but yet the background noise is over bearing.

Have you considered Bluetooth? Many TVs have native Bluetooth, if not you should be able to hook a Bluetooth dongle up to Bluetooth out.

Loving Ugly delicious, but DC appears to be someone I'd get along really well with.

Just finished Flint City. I spent 5 years in Ann Arbor so have a huge soft spot for the mitten. Man this show was depressing.

as you should. no doubt it has it's slow spots, but they are being very true to the subject matter (at least on the killer side of things) and combined with great acting it's mesmerizing at times.

Thanks for all the Ugly Delicious recommendations. This was just a really good show. Exactly what I wanted from a "food show". Awesome.
