Mindhunter was really good, but didn't like the cliffhanger. It didn't really fit with the show.

The Flash is really good as well. It's like 24 episodes a season though but very addicting.

I read the book earlier this year. Definitely solid potential.

Spoiler:
The title of the series/book is actually a huge spoiler in itself. Once Mary dies and says "Let me in" anyone with half a brain can figure out the ending.
Hmmm, it sounds from your spoiler like they made the movie in a completely different way than the book....

Watching it now, agree it is good stuff. He is funny, no matter where you stand politically.

"When You're Strange," is a good Doors documentary narrated by Johnny Depp. Interesting facts: Mr. Mojo Risin is an anagram for Jim Morrison. The Doors didn't use a bass guitarist, the drummer kept the beat. The rhythm guitarist never used a pick, he used his fingers and fingernails only.

It was serviceable when it came to the crime aspect but I think it was the personal slant that made it very good. Fwiw generally speaking I am not that big of a fan generally of too much personal stuff making it way into a crime series but they did it really well. It killed The Bill for me when they went from a purely police based show with occasional glimpses at an officers personal life when it ended up impacting their job to a show concentrating on their personal lives with the police activities becoming secondary.

I watched the sinner and was pretty impressed with it initially but thought the last few episodes were pretty disappointing tbh.

Fantastic documentary, just from the artistic presentation of the music. Iirc, it won a grammy for long form music video? Also a somber reminder of how lost that generation was with alcohol/drug abuse, and what could have been if Morrison had a longer career.

Mudbound is a film releasing tomorrow on Netflix about white and black families in the post-WW2 rural South and is getting really good reviews

The Flash and Supergirl are my guilty pleasures. So goofy. So much fun. With Netflix doing these hyper-gritty Marvel shows and Zack Snyder making godawful DC movies, it's refreshing to see a show that's true to the comic book silliness of the DC source material.

I agree that the DC material never finds the perfect balance of humor and drama. Some shows/movies are too dark, others are too campy. My fave DC related show was Smallville which was quite true to the silly roots of Superboy, but they kept it relevant by not allowing Clark Kent any “flights or tights”.

Gotham isn't half bad either. The acting is really campy, but in the case of Riddler and Penguin, it works surprisingly well.

The Bar (El bar) is fun. You might see past some plot holes and that it's not too funny (there are probably puns that only work in the original Spanish version though) and enjoy the pace and acting. I think the actor playing the bum really nails it.

Watching the Punisher (part of the netfix marvel universe) and like it. But, I always liked the character and am familiar with the origin story and one of the major characters. If a viewer is brand new to the Punisher, then they will be a little lost, at least for a few episodes. If you like Jon Bernthal (Shane from TWD) and on screen head shots, then you will probably like it.

Latest and final season of Longmire is up. Great example of a good cable TV series that got a few more extra seasons on Netflix.

Nah. The scene at 1:21 is staged, it's obvious because the director is a bad actor. The whole trailer generally comes off like low-budget staged reality show circa 2003. Will still watch but I'll probably be mad.

(I don't deny that the footage was shot "behind the scenes" in 1999ish.)

I was looking forward to the last season. I have watched first 4 episodes. Maybe my expectations were too high. A little disappointed.
