According to the film's end notes Yates received much criticism from some mountaineers for cutting the rope during the descent after the story of what happened to Simpson and Yates reached home (England). However, this is not correct and was based on an incorrect news article that implied that Yates had tried to kill Simpson.[2]
But yeah Joe should have cut it first.

Y'all are robots not to have been enthralled. ROBOTS I SAY.

lol netflix is not a torrent site. it's a fully legal subscription service where users pay a monthly fee to access unlimited DVDs through the mail and streaming movies/shows (the selection of movies/shows to watch online is much less than what's available by DVD). you probably don't know about it because it's only in the US and Canada.

Watched Dear Zachary today after seeing it recommended in a few threads.

A great documentary - one of the best I've seen - but brutal. I don't know if I've seen anything as emotionally draining.

uggg. Dear Zachary is a great story, but the the presentation is mediocre at best, I think I'm regurgitating something I wrote in earlier threads but its like the director has only watched Michael Moore films and does a really poor homage. I would still 100% recommend it because the story is just so insane.

Just watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was pretty long, but overall a good movie.

Comcast is going to be duking it out with one of Netflix's contracted online distributors over bandwidth usage. The company, Level 1, is arguing net neutrality and taking it to the FCC. Will be super interesting, I'm already in a decent Facebook war over it.

I thought it was Level 3? Either way I just heard this yesterday too. Don't know much about it but the person who told me figured Comcast was fighting an uphill battle.

Also, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is available for streaming. This is one of those films that most everyone who reads this forum may be aware of, but there will likely be one or two who aren't which makes it worth mentioning. Pretty interesting film laid out Memento-style with jumping around all over the timeline, and with added bonus points for generous tits and ass shots of Marisa Tomei. I like films like this which depict a situation where someone tries to dig themselves out of a hole and it gets predictably worse.

A much lighter version of that type of thing is "Out of Time" with Denzel. You find yourself almost giggling as it gets worse and worse, rather than being depressed. Not on Instant though.

I meant giggling because it's fun btw, not giggling because it's bad.

Just finished the entire series of "Survivors", and I am pissed that it was cancelled. So many cool plotlines could have developed from the season 2 finale. Blah.

I finally realized where I know Greg from. He was the black dude in "The Beach" that loved cricket.

I'm not a big stickler on things like this, but can people please use spoilers in regards to things that sound intense. Like guys having cut ropes on into the void please...I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but it kinda kills it for me and the anticipation of it actually happening since I was planning to watch it sometime.

You will be disappointed considering that they interview both people on the experience. So obviously they don't die. Big spoiler there.
