"My Friend Rockefeller" is really good. Documentary about the German guy who claimed to be a Rockefeller, was a forged art dealer, and murdered at least two people.

Binged watched Stranger things with my 6yr old daughter, she loved it. Though some of the content was above her, she enjoyed the adventure aspect of the three kids looking for their friend as well as the monster, and the idea of a multiverse.

Recommendations for another show a tween and adult would enjoy watching together?

I couldn't finish it, I just don't care what a random person can read into these things, they just didn't have any credibility with me without confirmation with kubrick

Can only imagine the sleepless nigts I would (rightly) experience if showing my daughter a show where monsters come out of the walls...

I think children are a lot stronger than we give them credit for most times. I just learned this week that one of the movies I most closely tie to my childhood Stand By Me, is actually rated R, which blew my mind.

i agree that it's very ancient aliens but i liked where they mapped out the hotel and showed the different ways kubrick was purposely ****ing with us. like i don't believe he made continuity errors to where there's an impossible window with bright shining light in the manager's office, and then later we follow characters on long tracking shots that prove its impossibility. or that jack was reading a playgirl magazine in the lobby, or when they're on a tour and in one freezer then out another in the same conversation. i didn't recognize that stuff even though i've seen the movie a half dozen times but it's clearly there.

and the faked moon landing stuff was funny you guys need to lighten up

Some of it was neat, but like the "there were 147 cars in the parking lot to symbolize something about hitler" was where I was like, alright guys let's settle down a bit

I love documentaries and while this one had interesting subject manor I found it somewhat flat.

This made me hate Kubrick and especially The Shining more than I already do. Not to mention the idiots who made this piece of crap.

The doc about fashion icon Iris Apfel appears hard to rate for me, as I don't care much at all about the fashion world. In a way, I don't get 'it' either.

She was born into money, I guess, and spent endlessly (although, to her credit, she can be seen bargaining over $5 accessories as well) on what is now one of the biggest collections in America of outfits, generally speaking. She's also very old (and in great shape for her age) and therefore in the process of giving away lots of them to a museum already.

It is a well-shot, smooth doc after all and I found the portrayal of this old American couple the most interesting bit. We can see her husband turn 100 in the doc; he's since passed away AFAIK.

6/10

One of the most amazing, beautiful, relaxing things on Netflix, he has hands of magic

Watched "I'll sleep when I'm dead" last night and thought it was pretty decent. I'm not really into the dj electronic scene, but actually really enjoyed it. +1 for Netflix Originals.

Fair enough. I am probably biased because I read the book and knew more about the subject going in - a lot of nuance about "clark" could not come through.

Also I am very familiar with San Marino and recognized a lot of the properties.
