stranger things is bomb...

I wish I would have stretched it out. Nothing to look forward to now and watching all the TPB stuff again.

Sword Art Online is on Netflix, anyone into MMORPG or Anime should definitely watch it.

Agree. It's okay but not great. Wynonna Ryder tries way too hard, and the kid actors are pretty bad too.

Does he still do the NLP stuff? That's in theory not common sense and would be worth something if it was real (but it isn't).

Yea I'd put the whole thing into the New Age bucket and there are many different seminars and such that make people feel temporarily good.

It is not a bad show, its an /average show. I think people are overrating the hell out of it because its a throwback to the old and we don't get many shows like this. The characters so far arent interesting, the plot isn't that eye catching, the atmosphere and mood is inconsistent. If its a thriller/horror then have us feel that for a MAJORITY of the episode. That's my prob with stephen king movies/adaptations, they can never really hold a consistent tone(green mile and a few others are a rare exception)

I dont want to discuss further since im only 3 eps in but got damn some of you overrated the **** out of it. I even had low expectations coming in
Yea. I only watched one and really don't want to watch more (but might, just to be sure and to be able to rek people better). We're definitely at peak TV in a bad way; anything halfway decent that hits the right beats (White Rabbit montages, casting older beloved actors, following the correct story formula, premiering all at once on a streaming service) gets absolutely gobbled up, immediately receives ~93% on RottenTomatoes, and is proclaimed "one of the best shows ever" within 36 hours of release.

It's not Stephen King btw, don't know if you thought it was, but a bunch of people seem to be fooled.

The Goonies is not a good movie FYI. I saw it in a movie theater in 35mm last August, and it was clear from audience reaction that people were like "oh, you know what, this really isn't that great when you have to sit and watch the whole thing" - Pee Wee's Big Adventure, on the other hand, which played afterwards, is the opposite. The Goonies love is another frustrating thing about this whole debacle. One of the dumbest/worst nostalgia points for people in the target generation.

Turns out it is a winner.

Wife went through the whole season in about three nights. Not 100% my cup of tea, but it's well done and some of the musical numbers border on Lonely Island-level good. (...okay, Lonely Island adjusted for network TV, anyway).

If relationship comedies are your thing this is def. a +EV watch.

I really enjoyed it. Loved the musical numbers and the comedy was good and funny and the chick has a massive rack. What's not to like?

That speaks to viewing habits tho, not the quality of the show.

you're right it's way better than twin peaks. it has great use of special effects and i got the sense that the creators actually came up with an idea for their fictional universe before they started filming lol

Just got done with ep 3

The reason I linked it to stephen king is because I feel there is "to much" going on.

theres a monster, kid with special powers, scientists

they throw in a little mystery element, little horror element, nothing is really telling. i think its trying a bit to hard to be multiple things and its just okay at all of them but mastering none of the elements.

I am not hating on the show, i think its picking up. I think its vastly overrated

Watching the new original "Last Chance". It follows a East Mississippi football team throughout the season...Really enjoying it. The past few Netflix originals have been super elite.

Yes Marco Polo is worth watching. I was engaged and throughout and enjoyed the show. Plenty of death and nudity.

Marco Polo is worth watching. s1 was solid, s2's bad parts were pretty bad but overall I enjoyed it. a few episodes into s2 make sure you have your remote handy-there are two scenes with the most disgustingly realistic sound effects. I never wanted to know what either of those....acts sound like. I did not have my remote at the ready. now I know.

This is basically correct. Not a bad show but not even close to great. Kinda weird the bandwagoning going on in here for the show. And Wynona's acting is pretty distracting. Meanwhile, I finished it. 3/5. Marcella is better, try it.
