I think they just added it a few days ago. Also because it's a highly rated film it likely gets rec'd for almost everyone.

I hear Dar Adal won a Best Actor Oscar for that too. Back before his black ops days.

I have a theory that Netflix "recommendations" and "Top picks" tap into your google searches or are possibly sponsored kinda like ads.

p.s. **** awards, they don't mean ****. You're part of the problem if you use rewards to gauge the quality of a film. some of the best films don't get **** because their producers are poor compared to the powerhouse studios.

I happen to know that CroShow is a ridiculous cinephile. He goes to film festivals in foreign countries to watch Serbian lesbian love stories set in the 20s. For most normal human movie fans, critical acclaim and awards/nominations are valuable tools in deciding what to watch on Netflix.

congrats.

if only I had said something in my original post about how I hadn't seen amadeus and wasn't commenting on how good it was.....I'm sure had I included that u wouldn't have made such a totally irrelevant post trying to convince me that it was a great film even tho how good it is in reality has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the topic.

good lord.
That post had nothing to do with you seeing Amadeus.

but ya, all oscars (awards in general) are totally meaningless, and the academy are a bunch of morons with very poor taste.
This is flat out wrong, and I used Amadeus/Crash to show why. Academy Awards, especially best picture, are a great resource in finding something good to watch. Just because there isn't an all time great movie ever made(Crash winning) every year, doesn't mean the oscars are pointless.

Please don't take your premature ejaculation, pms, or whatever the reason you come to these forums to attack people out on me for saying you are wrong. There is an undeniable correlation between Oscar winners and positive user reviews.

If crash had bill burr starring he would consider it one of the GOATs.

And don't question his stand up comedy knowledge he has the self proclaimed best taste in stand up comedy.

not sure if there is a more binge-watchable show than forensic files. Pretty sure between learning from the mistakes these dumbasses made and watching Making a murderer I can commit the perfect crime.

It's OK. I only kept watching it because I'm a sucker for sci-fi.

I will share the same sentiment. The story and concept itself is very appealing to me, but the acting and the actual execution is only OK.

I take this as a compliment. Even if I didn't attend a few festivals per year (in Canada and USA) it's super easy to stay plugged in to what's good out there. Most films land on my radar from festivals like Sundance, Cannes, SXSW, and Telluride.

Here's a good jumping off point. I shared this in the 2015 in Film thread. Watch this Top 25 list, it's great. There are some titles in there you may never even heard of. Throw David Ehrlich a follow on Twitter, he attends a lot of festivals and champions the smaller films. The world of film criticism is at our fingertips, this stuff is easier than ever to find.

CroShow, these are just regular joes that are pulling a movie off of Netflix, that's the thing. Yeah, it's great to value and treasure movies like you describe; it's just outside the experience of about 98% of people.

I watched the first two eps of F is for family today. Let me just say that I was pleasantly surprised.

The best part about the show is probably the title sequence. There were definitely a good number of funny moments throughout and fairly interesting storylines.

That said there's a good amount to dislike too. There's entirely too much pointless profanity. Burr shouting strings of obscenities gets old fast and in many places I thought that the unnecessary profanity made the rest of the line weaker.

It's no archer or bojack but I'll keep watching.
