Chef was nothing special. Not terrible, but definitely would never watch it again.

I don't see how anyone can hate on Chef. It's a standard feel good movie. The only reasonable complaint I would understand is the slight change of tone from the first 1/3 of the movie to the last 2/3. My girl and I watched it Sunday afternoon and both enjoyed it. The close up cooking shots were really well done, and I thought the Robert Downey Jr. cameo was hysterical.

A lot of these were taken down on Feb 1st. I remember watching two Bond movies and Zodiac toward the end of the month for that reason.

Preach. I'm baffled to read scathing reviews but that doesn't alter my opinion of a great film. Chef is light, simple and damn effective. Favreau directed Iron Man 1+2. Cowboys and Aliens. He created Chef as a direct parallel to his career as a filmmaker. I think it's ballsy for him to say he's getting tired of making the same movies (cooking same menu) for years. It's the feel good movie of the year. The food pron is top notch too. I ate at Franklin BBQ in Austin last fall and it was amazing.

I've had the babysitters as a viewer favorites or whatever forever. Did anyone itt watch it?

I know why its a favorite ldo, but I can't imagine its what the target demographic wants it to be.

These ppl are already on the internet, doubt the movie is as good as what a google search would turn up.

Just cuz I like beating off a dead horse...that grilled cheese looked pretty standard. Putting more than one type of cheese in it was not exactly revolutionary.

Panic Room (2002)
I remember seeing the previews for this when it came out back in the day. I watched it last night and it's just ok. A suspense/thriller that is somewhat predictable along the way but still a good watch if nothing better is on.

Magic City was great despite the end of season 2 feeling a bit rushed because they knew the axe was looming over the series... It's a shame Starz doesn't support great shows like Party Down, Boss and Magic City

4.5/5 for Chef. Very much enjoyed it. Really liked the dialogue, and authenticity. You could tell every dish was the real deal. And a nice little story to boot.

I like Bosch, I'm 4 episodes deep. The lead actor is great. I've read a few of the books and I totally buy him as Bosch. And Marlo from The Wire is his partner.

+1. Only 3 episodes in but yeah I've read 5 or 6 Bosch books and I think the lead actor is fantastic as well.
