i just signed out, and i agree that it looks like it won't let you see the whole thing as a guest.

check it out using a friend's account or sign up for a free two-week trial? i think it's easy to cancel online.

I just bought the Roku player. I'm connected using the wireless side of my Verizon FIOS router. I've watched the first 6 episodes of Dexter S1 and the first 14 episodes of News Radio S1 (i'd forgotten how great Phil Hartman was in that show). It works great, I've had like two 1/2 second glitches so far.

Netflix's watch instantly is coming to xbox live.

In the quest to reign the world of home entertainment streaming, partnering with Microsoft to provide your movie download service on Xbox 360 is definitely a good move. In fact, it’s a safe bet that a good percentage of potential set top box owners are already packing an Xbox 360 and for these guys you’re practically a shoo in. Netflix, of course, is the lucky winner here. Showcased at a Microsoft roundtable event held yesterday, Netflix’s Xbox 360 streaming service was actually quite impressive. Movies and TV episodes added to the Netflix queue (this still has to be done on a PC for now) become available on the Xbox 360 almost instantly and playback is controlled with the same familiar navigational elements used during DVD and video playback. As Netflix continues to expand its streamable library beyond the 10,000 movies and TV episodes already present, this partnership with Microsoft is going to help their service tremendously. Once it launches, the Netflix on Xbox 360 service will require a Gold level Xbox-Live subscription.
i'm excited for this, no more hooking the computer up to the TV with an s-video to watch movies!! hopefully this will look good on hdtv's... thoughts?

[I've posted this before somewhere; there must be another Netflix WI thread somewhere]

I think it's great if you treat it like it is: a pretty nice add-on. If you get netflix just for the watch instantly, I can see how you'd be disappointed. I pretty much just treat it like a DVR by going through the selection every now and then and adding everything I might be remotely interested in to the WI queue, and when we are need of something to watch just spin through it all from the XBOX.

Dexter is no longer available to watch instantly? I got real excited reading through this thread. Weeds season 1 & 2 are but 3 isn't hopefully its a matter of time for three. It's frustrating watching TV show DVDs when you only have a 1 disc plan. I always end up watching 5/6 episodes without realizing it. Then I watch the final episode on the disc the next day and have to wait a few days to get the next disc.

Engadget Netflix shootout between the Roku, TiVo, 360, and a couple Netflix-enabled Blu-Ray players.

I find my Roku simpler and more reliable than my TiVo S3. Different TVs, but I have no comparison PQ complaints.

I figured the "bump" would be because of this:
HBO Possibly Coming to Netflix

This is obviously in the early stages, but would be pretty awesome if you ask me, and probably worth another $9.99 a month. The only question I have that you can't really glean from the info that is out there is whether you would have access to HBO shows right after they aired, or if they would only become available after a series is released on DVD. If you get it after it airs, then there is no doubt I get it; just cancel HBO and you save the money. Since I am sure they have thought of that, I imagine the details (when and if they get around to actually doing this) would sour the idea somewhat.

Cool. I'd gladly pay $10/month to roll through older series if they're HD/widescreen (where appropriate). There was also a survey about PS3 Netflix-enabling, though, and MS went on to go exclusive. Still just surveys.

I'm up ~50% on NFLX stock, purchased it sometime last year. It's about the only one that's done well! Their last financial report made it sound like streaming is set to become a cash cow, and subscriptions in general are way up. Limited stats also showed that people who stream tend to take less by mail. I just hope that streaming doesn't supplant Blu-Ray to the extent that people are reticent to even release on the medium, because streamed stuff still doesn't compare - especially on audio.

Right now their database is still too limited for watch now. If you have some specific movie that you'd like to watch it is unlikely to be available. Has a lot of future potential obviously.

There has been a lot of new content added lately. A bunch of History Channel stuff is on there, which is fun to watch. My watch instantly queue is up to ~70. That includes some comedy specials, a bunch of movies, some History Channel, and several TV series.

I only use the 360 to stream, though - as my TV is HD and on occasion I actually get to watch it in HD (when TW doesn't suck).

I really liked blockbusters service more...you could rent 3, get them sent..take those 3 back and get 3 more while having 3 more sent....

That was the deluxe package for 20-25 or so...I eventually saw every movie I ever needed or wanted to see and cancelled though..... just my 2c

Just wanted to echo the sentiment of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters as not only being the best documentary I've ever watched, but is compelling enough to be better than most all hollywood scripts.

Watch Man On Wire

Also, the reason King of Kong seems like that is because of how Hollywood they made the movie even without a script. The word documentary should be used somewhat loosely wrt that movie.
