Anyway, I recently saw an ep or two of the Cosby Show to see how it had aged and I'm still not a fan - as a general portrait of a successful black family it does well, but as a sitcom (presumably the reason one would watch) I find it very meh. It's basically just Cosby with cute/parental interactions with various members of his fake family.

I don't mind people saying they don't like something, it allows me to temper my expectations a bit. They don't need to qualify it further although it's helpful if they do.
Regarding 80s TV and SNL, it's kind of a shame that they don't seem to have any of those seasons available. Maybe I'm remembering it more fondly because it's the SNL of my youth but I thought that some of the non-Lorne Michael years both with and post Eddie Murphy were really solid. The cast with like Christopher Guest, Anthony Michael Hall, Julia Louise Dreyfus, Bill Crystal, Dana Carvey, Jim Belushi et al. Would be curious to see how those eps have aged.
