I never heard of Bo Burnham before, but I started watching his special, could see he is very talented, but it wasn't really engaging as it was kind of scattered. I ended up randomly skipping through the show. His video linked above is really good and that's seems like a the best way to package his material - but spread out over 1.5 hours (or whatever is was) didn't work for me.

Does anyone have a take on "Black Summer" on Netflix? Season 2 dropped today. I remember watching some of Season 1 two years ago when it came out, but don't remember why I didn't finish it. It is zombie apocalypse show.

Clarkson's Farm on Amazon

Follows Jeremy Clarkson as he takes over the running of his 1,000-acre farm in rural England.

He knows nothing about farming so quickly has to learn about crops, machinery, animal husbandry, etc. It's made a lot harder by the fact at the start of filming the country had some of the worse flooding it'd ever had, then the emergence of covid and subsequent lockdowns, then droughts!

Nice to see Clarkson not being his usual brash, know-it-all, persona, but actually being rather humble and quite likeable as he starts to really get into it. He's also helped by several fun countryside characters.

No idea why I started watching it, but ended up addicted and really enjoying it. Kind of like a very low-key Top Gear (Clarkson doing stupid stuff he thinks is clever) meets Countryfile.

Lupin's writers are horrible. So much cringy botched choices. Terrible reveals that add nothing.
The level of suspension of disbelief required is super high here.
Omar Sy is doing a great job carrying this average show to an enjoyable watch.

Ep. 1 in Le Louvre was incredible and enjoyed the next few, but it's slowly been losing quality until 10. Still a solid watch, but yah, a lot of that is Sy.

Finished the Bureau and thought it was really excellent. Worth the couple months of Sundance I paid for because I watch shows slowly.

Glad to hear that. S2 finally came in for me from the library and I'll probably start it tonight.

Bo Burnham is a character in the next Tim Burton movie with the score written by Danny Elfman.
not saying that's wrong, that's just what it reminds me of in that clip.

season 1 was "ok" after you got the gust of it, feel it had to get 2-3 eps in to find its grounding.

I only watched ep 1 of s2 and while its just as scattered as earlier s1 eps, Im stil a sucker for zombie shows and will watch/ hope it gets more streamlined and linear here soonlike it did near the end of s1

This is for all streamed shows. They left the original title for nostalgia.

If you were 20 years younger you'd have been forced to watch Ricky Bobby and a bunch of hot girls with your girlfriend.

Not the same thing, but give The O.C. a shot.

I couldn't get into this new one but i'll try again. He had a special back in 2016 or 2017 that was incredible.

Hell, I watched it 20 years ago too (without prodding from the girlfriend), its train wreck TV with good looking people at its finest.

Great, looks like I'll be pissing lots of time down an O.C. rathole, not sure whether to thank you or curse you for the tip, time will tell....

Army of the Dead (new remake) was completely forgettable IMO. It was an interesting take on the zombie genre in that it's a bank heist movie / 1 last job type of theme vs. a post apoc/survival movie. With that said, I didn't really care for any of the characters and the side plots were pretty ****ing dumb. I would skip this.

Watched Greenland. A movie to bring out the anxiety of flying space rock but overall a terrible movie for accuracies. The story was definitely written for your average-brained viewer at best.

Wouldn't recommend the movie but there is a nice scene where some rock impacts a city.
