Well yeah and I wouldn't be reading this thread if I didn't care what other people think

Creating an Army of the Dead was interesting to see how they made the movie, the cgi, make-up, etc.

I absolutely love MoN and quit after 10 minutes, maybe I'll come back but the show seems to have gone in a completely different direction. I like Lena Waithe too when she was on MoN and her show Twenties but not sure whats going on here

hopefully it gets better and I need to be patient but if the first few minutes are any indication, it wont

Yeah and from what I've read, you don't need to finish S2 to start MON S3. It's like a completely different show.

Russian Doll - 8 episode time loop series with some similarities to groundhog day. predictable and trope-laden, but still a fun watch. quality improves with each episode which is always nice.

Army of the Dead - the plot has more holes than a screen door, the acting is bad, the editing doesn't make sense, the green screening was done on a first gen iphone. the fact that snyder continues to be hired for anything is one of the great mysteries of the industry. but yeah there is a zombie tiger.

Shadowhunters - turned this off about halfway into the first episode because the writing (most especially the dialogue) was off the charts bad, even for YA material. normally willing to always suffer thru a full episode of anything to give it a fair chance, but this was almost certainly written by a toddler on the living room wall using spaghettio sauce. the acting is also universally terrible as well.

Broadchurch - I decided to give this a whirl because I enjoy mysteries and this has very good reviews. I can't say I was too crazy about the ending/reveal. Years ago, I watched all seasons of Foyle's War, which had one mystery per episode, so there wasn't a whole lot to get mad about. That was a great show.

Hacks - I'm down with this show. It hasn't really proven itself after 4 episodes, but I'll keep watching.

Midnight Diner - took me a few to recognize how good this is. There's something you get from watching this show that's comforting. Half hour episodes are a plus. It's a Japanese program that revolves around the lives of people that frequent the same late night diner. I've never seen another show like it.

broadchurch has a decently good first season and season 2 is ok season 3 is decent too. overall it was solid. I dont think the series declined big time or majorly as it went on

edit* one would think we get a lot of solid crime solving series liek that but actually we dont. not of that decent of a quality imo

Really disliked Russian Doll. Found it boring and the lead irritating. My wife and I have had just the finale left for months and can’t even be bothered.

I can understand not liking it. I can't understand getting all the way to the finale and quitting then? Lots of stuff I don't like but never quite get that far with them. I always know in the first or second episode. I would have to watch the finale just to see how it all comes together if I got that far along.

I'm certain that there have been plenty of good crime series since True Detective or even The Wire. It's not my bag, but I get why people watch them and I'll follow Mare til the end.

Zero Zero Zero on Amazon prime was excellent. An 8 episode miniseries about international cocaine trafficking based on the book by Roberto Saviano who also wrote Gomorrah.

Can't recommend it enough.

town of eastmare is such a sprawling mess of shallow character development and infinite red herrings and so many coincidences on the night of the murdur durdur

Spoiler:
last week's bath tub scene with the grandson was absurd

the wire is a bit old now tho and even tho I really liked TD 1 3 and even 2 I dont think we still see enough good shows that follow like this, I thought the killing was okay too

ye I think its been as good as sharp objects tho. I am decently happy altho youre right with red herrings stuff. itts still better than 80% of crime shows
the point I was making is that there are too many blahh super mediocre crime shows like the sinner. again its only my opinion but its what i feel, and no i dont compare crime shows to TD season 1 or 3, that would be unfair!

yeah i think it was super good. i was surprised. at first I didn't like the multi faced story compilation with the plot threads intertwining. was a fun watch. I would've watched gmorrah but its too long imo

Yeh that’s fair. It was only 7 half hour eps and had heard enough good things that we toughed it out. But I found the time loop to be more jarring and unpleasant the more times I saw it so hit a wall

got done with money heist season 1 or part 1?

honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I kinda want to keep going and kinda dont. I just feel the show is going to rapidly decline any second here and go full on dumb

I seem to be the only person who really liked that, and I generally don't like shows that are too silly, although I am a massive sucker for heist kinda stuff.

Iirc the last season/part wasn't great.

Money heist season one was a fun ride even if it got super dumb at times. Did not finish the next part.

S2 is equally as good, but as far as Spaniard series goes, La Valla >>>> La Casa de Papel

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Don't know if it's still available, but if so, grab it so you can watch "The Restaurant" on Sundance Now channel. About a family & staff who own / work at a restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden at the end of WWII.
