The Witcher : rewatch. still entertaining. much easier to follow now that i've already been thru all the weird time jumps on the first viewing. that dragon is still perhaps the worst CGI dragon ever made.

Jupiter's Legacy : josh duhamel aka store brand timothy olyphant is pretty annoying in this, but eventually you learn that he's meant to be annoying, and why. still comes too late to lessen the annoyance. the show starts off fine and slowly gets worse and worse until the final episode, where it gets really bad.

Warrior Nun : this started off pretty bad, got better, then ended terribly. the lead actor is absolutely atrocious, literally any of the other supporting actors should have replaced her. an internal monologue is used (thankfully less so in later episodes) and it's as terrible as you'd imagine. special effects are decent for a netflix budget. fight choreography is a saving grace. editing is quite bad and really drives a nail in the coffin.

Good thing about getting older and having my memory fade is I get to watch shows multiple times and still enjoy them

Just binged Masters of None for the second time, LOVE this show

I hear S3 is about to drop, hope that means Aziz has dished out his pound of flesh as penance to the outrage mob and we’ll be getting more of his work

Felt this on Friday. Round at a friend's we put on a film that looked good - I think it was 'new' or 'trending' or something. 20min in I was certain I'd seen it, although had no idea what happens. I think I can be excused because it turns out it was released ~10yrs ago, and I probably saw it then.

Anyway, decided not to watch it, and watch the series Sinner instead. Very soon realise I've seen it, but can't remember anything, then every minute or so there's a scene or character I remember being in it, but I still have no idea what happens next. I keep waiting for one that will jolt my memory into remembering it all, but it never comes...

I know its not netflix but is anyone else really happy with HBO/max? They have some anime, they got old adult swim shows yeah their interface is kinda meh but overall Im happy with the accessibilty and amount of shows that DONT seem just from HBO. without it I would've never discussed or heard about warrior from people ITT.

also I knwo we talked about hos these true crime docs are starting to get stale but hows the new son of sam show? worth watching or nah

also I am on ep 9 of money heist pu tit down like 2 weeks ago even tho i thought it wa actually solid for the most part, dont know why I started watchin it though especially when I heard it was 4 seasons long. as I said before and another user agreed, you just KNOW its going to be absolute dogshit the longer it goes but season 1 from what ive seen is actually pretty solid.

HBO Max is the nuts. I’m seriously considering cancelling Netflix. I think Queens Gambit was the last thing I watched on there.

HBO Max is definitely great if you haven't watched a lot of their shows. There are many elite shows on there overall (varying interests/season #s/etc). I'm a big fan.

Travelers - Hundreds of years in the future, the last surviving humans discover a way of sending consciousness back through time, directly into people in the 21st century -- "travelers," who assume the lives of seemingly random people. They're also secretly working as teams to perform missions in order to save humanity from a terrible future.

From a viewers perspective, it's impossible to constantly change the storyline for when time travel changes something, so any tv series with time travel is ultimately going to dumb it down or come up with some way around things.
8/10
mostly in agreement with this review

they did a great job of making a low budget hard sci fi watchable, mostly due to some very solid character creation and compelling performances. the writing is uneven, but the actors manage to carry the show. the leads are OK, but it's the supporting characters that make this worthwhile. patrick gilmore and jennifer spence steal every scene they are in, both in supporting roles that never seems to have enough screen time. because it's canadian sci fi, amanda tapping does manage to worm her way in as a character at some point, but despite as insufferable as she is, not even she can ruin things.

if you can enjoy time travel stuff without being a nit, it's a fun take. third season does drag a little in the middle, but it's worth finishing.

Special for the next few days only, if you are Amazon Prime, get AMC+ for only .99/month for 2 months. AMC+ includes Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited.

Good deal, but I already have SundanceNow.

From that service, I'd suggest The Little Drummer Girl based on the John LeCarre novel.

Army of the Dead on Netflix today, better than expected. It's good for what it is. Theo Rossi in more trouble than on SOA. IMDB 7.1 with 4800 votes. 2 hours 20 minutes.

I thought it was fine overall, but I was a bit annoyed by Izzy’s performance for most of the first season. Very little subtlety. Seemed over the top far too often.

I enjoyed it for the most part but I stopped caring about the characters personal lives outside of the business.

And watch the original before that. Snyder's remake is one of my favorite remakes but the original is a masterpiece.

I liked the show but Izzy was as annoying as Cameron in Halt and catch fire.

Master of None season 3 today. I haven't watched but I see the early reviews are that it sucks. I still have about 6 or 7 episodes to finish on Season 2 and those reviews look good. I guess I can at least finish Season 2.

How abt just watch it yourself and decide. I haven't seen it but it's ridiculous not to watch something bc it has bad reviews. Ppl complain abt everything online, like I'm complaining abt this. Incels complain abt women, doesn't mean I'll get a divorce. Ok I'm done

It's pretty rare for me to find a good movie or tv show that has both bad critic and audience reviews. I don't even know if one exists.
