Nobody: Yeah, it was ok, nothing special. I didn't hate it, but there were several groan out loud moments for me. I don't forsee me ever giving it a second watch.

Take your pick:

Die Hard, Neighborhood Edition or A-Team, Mr O's now in charge!

If they would have just incorporated one "Yippee Ki Yay", it would have made my day.

A fun movie!

Archive 81 was extremely captivating. Despite not being a genre I care for, I couldn't stop watching.

It crashes my internet like half the time I try to use it. Took me 3 days to watch a single episode last week either to stopping my internet or simply not working.

it's like they hired someone who has never used a streaming application before to design it just insane how bad it is.

also love how for some reason it makes a super loud obnoxious click every single time you move the cursor for absolutely no reason other than to annoy the **** out of you

GF and I have some complicated feelings about Archive '81. Loved the first 7 episodes...the vibe, the intensity, the amazing sound design...the creepiness. Very good.

But unfortunately, it does not come to a satisfying conclusion. Too many unanswered and confusing questions. My GF said, "I couldn't figure out the rules." She's a writer and I realized she's right - Knowing the rules of the story in a horror or sci-fi show is important. Like, "is the ghost able to materialize in the real world or not" type of thing.

There seems to be a second season in the works, so maybe it will answer some of my concerns.

But it's definitely worth watching.

Been binging the travel show, Midnight Asia, about the nightlife in various Asian cities. It's quite good and fun...gorgeous cinematography and interesting characters. Reminds me of Anthony Bourdain but without, well, him.

This is lazy writing and the main problem with many shows. I'm willing to accept a sci-fi or horror premise, but then you have to stay within that. It's like setting the rules of the game and then not obeying them.

Latest Star Wars example - Rey pulls a starship out of the sky with the force, but 10 minutes earlier couldn't get her friends out of the equivalent of quick sand.

The House (Netflix) is a 3-part, stop-motion anthology film written by Irish playwright, Enda Walsh.

Holy moly, what a movie. You will be captured immediately by the very strange first story - a struggling early 20th century English family who lives in the countryside moves into a very strange house. The wool-made stop-motion characters are so strange and yet so damn English at the same time...and don't sleep on baby Isobel - she's a bad ass.

In part 2, a desperate rat is trying to refurbish this same house in order to flip it. (Yes, you read that right). He holds an open house that, well, goes disastrously wrong - and finds himself hosting a strange couple who will not leave.

In part 3, a cat named Rosa is also trying to refurbish the same house - only this time in the near future, after flooding has turned everything around the house into a lonely, mist-filled lake. She has 3 tenants (all cats) who pay in fish and new-age Mongolian throat-singing lessons.

***

This is a magical, hilarious, gorgeous, brilliant movie. My favorite film I've seen in over a year. Don't miss it.

The Afterparty on Apple dropped the first 3 episodes today. Everyone is too goofy, including Tiffany Haddish(Detective), and then all the singing in episode 3. Blah. I will finish it but disappointed.

Hopefully "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window" with Kristen Bell on Netflix is better.

Haven’t started Afterparty yet but that sucks to hear. As for The Woman Across..... I’ve watched the first two and it’s not bad. Bell is amazing no matter what but I’m not sold on it yet. I did check out Single Drunk Female and while it’s far more tame than I’d hoped, it’s still pretty good!

Yea, 4 episodes down on woman across and it's not bad, short 30 min. episodes.

Single Drunk Female is decent so far.

major major spoilers for the woman in the house on Netflix

Spoiler:
ending just beyond words stupid. I don't give a **** what you wanna say any fight between a healthy grown person and a ****ing 9yr old girl is gonna be a short lived one sided affair. you could give the kid a knife a sword a freaking mace and nunchucks and they're still getting their face caved in

also they claimed it was a parody of the genre but I didn't really see much comedy or parody until a feeble attempt near the end but overall it was basically just a bad imitation.

The Righteous Gemstones s2 has been quite good so far. Also agree with Peacemaker being good too. As much as I hate the wait with the HBO shows at least there are two of them on my radar now each week.

I guess I could also get try to get back into Station 11. I was into the first three or four episodes of Station 11, especially the first two but then it seemed to be going downhill for me. It lost me in the episode with all the kids although I was a bit inebriated when watching that episode. If anybody is still into this one let me know if it's worth picking it back up.

I feel the same way. Captivating most of the way, but you can't just take 'Stranger Things' and Demons/Evil, plaster them together and hope something good comes out. Hope Season 2 explains some stuff.
