Just found out family guy is being taken off Netflix on feb 14. I’m so sad. Family guy is like half my viewing on Netflix. Half of the time it’s for background noise but I still enjoy the **** out of the show. Ho hum. I don’t really want to have to get Hulu just to watch family guy.

There is plenty of other good stuff on Hulu.

I've seen the first four eps and just wow. Can't wait to finish. Compare and contrast Scott Tuckers punishment to that of HSBC. Absolutely vile world we live in.

But why? As a programmer, I don't take "we taught it to learn" as an explanation. Without some a priori knowledge of its environment (or desire or objective) baked in, there's no reason for it to do anything other than sit there.

For example, a typical chess program would be programmed with knowledge of how to evaluate positions (usually aided by a chess master), opening books etc. By contrast, with AlphaZero everything is "learned" from scratch by playing massive numbers of games against itself to see what works and what doesn't.

I'm sure I'm oversimplifying it but that's basically the gist of it from what I understand (and I haven't watched the doc yet).

"The agent system has to learn everything for itself, just from the raw pixels. It doesn't know what it's controlling. It doesn't even know what the object of the game is."

thought alphago was alright. all I knew going in was that it won but not any of the specifics, and I dont even know the rules of go so was tough to follow the "key moves" that were pointed out. I wish it had gone more into detail on the self learning aspect and parts of it did seem contradictory like goofy is saying. They did pre-program it with thousands of games, and it would cite calculations based on how often a human would make a certain move which certainly the AI would not be able to get to just by simulating millions of games against itself.

The cinematography is the best it's been. Thought the top three were good to great and the bottom 3 ok to bad. USS Callister is in the running for the GOAT Black Mirror episode.

I'm the type of nerd that I would love to see an more in depth documentary about alphagos programming and watch it. Thought I realize I am a narrow audience. But for the scope of the Alphago documentary I thought they did a good job at least laying down the groundwork for what Alphago was doing.

Black Museum definitely my favorite.

Thought Metalhead was ok just because of the suspense/chase aspects, but would would have been a lot more interesting if we actually knew anything about the dogs.

In a deleted scene they showed some rich guy in a house in a distance controlling them by remote.
