My wife and I talk about this, but I'm not sure that it's meant literally. It's more of a convenient shorthand for "I find that name laughable."
One offbeat name that we have discussed for a girl that I like quite a bit is Juniper. Outside of that, most of the names she seems to favor tend to be names your characters would have in Oregon Trail.
