To kind of add onto chopstick's reply, I don't know how much general career advice is useful. Each person's situation is different, I suspect a thread specific to yours is what you what, to try to help you directly. Other people may be able to generalize some of this information to their situation.

No doubt there are vendors / contractors out there who will submit a low bid, hoping to recoup on the back end with high charges for changes and additions, which they expect will come because they obfuscate the scope.

I know from painful experience.

Career advice from the woman who's constantly feuding with her boss. What could go wrong?

J,

Whenever faced with a situation at work, just ask yourself - what would mly do here? Then do the opposite.

i brought a bunch of pizza and some other party stuff to the old job today to say goodbye and clear out my locker. i'm not really sure what I expected but it didn't seem to go over that well. the nazi kid hates me so much, he didn't eat any pizza even though i got his favorite kind from his favorite place, LOL.

it is good i am getting out of there

It's sort of my fault, I've been antagonizing him a little bit. Can't help myself. years of pent up frustration and harassment from him while being protected by my boss, now neither of them can say **** to me.

I have a "Islam Q&A" pamphlet I found at school a few weeks ago, I'm gonna leave it on his locker on my last day. Is that a good idea? nope. but i'm gonna do it anyway

My boss is going to want all my milk carton clothing. I "signed" something under duress a few years ago that said I was given 5 shirts and one jacket or something.

What I actually own is at least 15 shirts and several jackets, you just have a tendency to accumulate them over the years. When they get returned clothing they just throw it away, so for a while the old office manager was giving me the leftover clothing, that's why I have so much.

In my mind, they're mine. I know legally that isn't the case but I want to keep all my clothes. So i have two options, I can just scrap together my five crappiest shirts and the jacket and keep all the ones I like, or I can say **** it, I'm keeping everything, and they can take me to small claims.

Small claims is the better option. It might lead to interesting trip reports.

i'm not doing the letter or speaking to the big boss, you gotta let me have a little fun on the way out.

although, I've pissed him off so badly that there's a non zero chance he comes in to work and shoots me on sunday. Not even kidding.

luckily I hear he's an awful shot.

I'm fine with the pamphlet but you should take the line of giving back the ****ty clothes rather than refusing to give anything back. It makes absolutely zero sense for you to risk having a court filing with your name attached as a public record just because you felt like sticking it to the boss. That's the kind of thing that comes back later in life to bite you, and I assure you that you will not think then that it was worth it.

You are moving on to bigger and better things, while they are stuck at the milk carton. Be the better man. Wish them well and walk away with a smile on your face. Go back every so often to ride the ferry and say hello. Living a materially improved life is the best revenge, if that's what you're after.

I'm trying to leave on good terms with everyone except nazi boy. I'm not certain I will be missed, but I don't really care. I am probably going to give the clothes back unless it's obvious that my boss isn't gonna push it too hard. there's a really good chance he'll just forget or decide that it's too much of a hassle to deal with me.

I don't think the place realized how much stuff I did to keep things going and morale from plummeting. don't really care about revenge though, i have nothing to be mad about now

I would have made last Sunday as my last day and had a week's break.

I also don't understand why you put so much thought in to people you dont get along with and won't interact with ever again after tomorrow.

All this bitterness about your job is fine as long as you forget all about it as soon as you start your new job. No need to let any of it bother you anymore once you've moved on.

J,

Claiming you’re not mad then doing a bunch of petty stuff that’s all negative freerolls for you is kinda MLYLT like.
