And just the knowledge that babs is following along watching the Hunchcapping, that should be good enough! Maybe he can posts his thoughts on the contest in another forum!
OMG!!! Don't tempt me you officious orangutan!

NOW I have to give this even MORE serious consideration. I mean, what if I could manage to finish 5th? Man that would be sweet cause I could brag about how I am as good a huncapper as Tbab incessantly, and how I almost won, and got robbed obviously — and he would never be able to challenge my claim.

AND, Tbab crushed you sooooo resoundingly in Hunchcap I that I'm surprised you would even consider embarrasing yourself again. Obviously, you are the definition of dead money. And don't get me started on that Let it Lie bull**** wager of yours!

Hmmmmmmm… gonna have to seriously consider entering. ****.

I'm thinking that if $23 was allocated for the 5th place finisher in Hunchcap II — a recognition of sorts for our fallen comrade, as it were — then that would pretty much seal the deal for me. I mean, just THINK OF THE BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!

Which part of that are you denying, Yak? That he escrowed his money freely? Or that holding him to it isn't force? An argument, you may know, is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition. It's not just saying "no, 't'isnt."

Like the rules, Soup.

Once you join the league, PM me and I'll give you my PayPal info.

I'm pretty much the least likely person on the planet to work secretly in the interests of those who run 2+2. I'm actually astonished that running off many of my favorite posters going back at least to Abdul never made a dent in their influence. Apparently they know something about running their business that I don't.
Did you run Abdul off? I'd forgotten that, if I'd ever known it. I rather liked him as a poster, BTW. He had some pretty interesting stuff to say.

He meant that 2+2 ran Abdul off, but it didn't seem to affect them in a meaningful way.

Should be able to confirm in the next 2 hours whether or not I will be available to participate but it's looking good. I've been around 2+2 for a decade but I'm not the most prolific poster so I wouldn't expect anyone to vouch. Who should I be escrowing with?

Oh no, I had nothing to do with his departure. I'm pretty sure Mason gets the credit for that one -- I think I have two posts to rgp (during the pokerspot debacle) and none to the original 2+2, but I always read it. He was way ahead of most of us when you go back and read his old stuff now and funny as anyone I can think of. Obviously the game has changed a lot since then too, but I used to crush limit poker so hard back in the day mostly due to stuff he and a few other contrarians used to argue for. Poker was so much fun for me during the transition from 7 stud to LHE and during the internet poker boom. I think I just hang out and play the WSOP out of a sense of nostalgia now.

My other favorite poster who was run off in an embarrassing fashion was Paul Phillips. I had a kind of mancrush on him and can remember vividly introducing myself to him at a tourney table in the most fanboy-ish way possible despite the fact that I'm probably 10 years older than him and he was every bit as charming and interesting in person as I had hoped he would be. I actually made a huge laydown in that tourney where the scales were tipped by the fact that if I busted I wouldn't get to keep talking to him. Of course, he busted an orbit later anyhow.

Dude, compared to me you are a prolific poster in 10 years. I'll vouch for you just on general principles.

Duh, thanks. I've apparently left my ability to read at home today.

New pickmonitor account for Hunchcap II:

Shoot, guess now we'll never know if tbab got that raise...

Yak,

Look at https://www.pickmonitor.com/sports-pick-tracker

Tons of euro sports there, in fact most of the savviest wager opportunities are on obscure euro league events!

You owe it to this thread to join!

He'll update us when he rejoins the thread.

All,

I imagine around Hunchcap IV or V there will be some discussion as to whether the required thread rejoin penalty is $100, $200, $300 etc or even possible at all.

Yeah, but some White Knight will pay it for him...

As a matter of fact, how do we know someone isn't proxying for the Beast in this contest?
08-21-2014 , 06:43 PM
Howard does have a history of that. His latest anti-Beast posts are likely to keep us off their trail.

There's not possible way of knowing that.
