I have not shipped any money to tbab. He appears to place a very high value on his ongoing participation here and has not yet decided if he wants to pull the trigger on a ban now that the ability to get his money back is within his grasp. He asked me for 24 hours to decide, which I have no personal objection to one way or other although I have no control over what Alobar does. I'm obviously not sending money without confirmation of his ban first. I continue to assert that the most likely outcome is that he declines the deal and participates in the contest. I'll be able to return to lurking with a clean conscience in that event.

I have a feeling tbab sent his number out of panic. I doubt there was any reason behind it.

Can you (or anyone else) point to some kind of rules post? I'm trying to handicap this thing and I need to figure out if he can still beat El Maldito whilst being banned from 2+2 and what exactly the penalty structure is. If a 2+2 ban disqualifies him from victory in his heads-up match, I might have to set a new line.

I simply explained to babs what the next steps in the process would be if he decided to continue down that path and his PM response included his phone number. I imagine he wanted me to have it in case I decided to invite him to a baseball game after his banning here.

Nothing like that, I believe that he finds it difficult in the end to actually walk away from something that represents a substantial investment of time and energy from him and his relationships with the other posters in the thread have value to him. I suspect that he finds it difficult to distinguish between the kind of good natured grief that men often give each other and trolling and actual hostility. To be honest, I think I'm pretty good at reading people and I'm not sure which is which in this thread myself sometimes.

I can't remember the name of the place, but it was just outside/connected to the stadium on the Mission Bay (south?) side. I also liked their crispy carnitas tacos. I was impressed that they sold beer in plastic cups for taking into the stadium and my friend was amused that I was surprised this was permitted. I believe he called me a hick. He assured me that this was highly standard for foodies attending the games, but he is often full of crap.

My preference for them over the crab sandwich is probably east coast bias -- our Mexican options suck so I'm always all about the food trucks and the Mission and blue crab seems so much better to me than Dungeness, although I admit that is a pretty good option if you are going to have one. I heard that the Ferry Building farmer's market people have a crab sandwich too, but I haven't tried that.
