@wiper: the creepiness factor depends on circumstance. If you told her about the picture and she didn't mind at all, then you read the situation right. Not the sort of thing I would do unless it were blindingly obvious that it was okay. Either way, good picture.

I get the admiration part; we all definitely look. But taking a pic of a stranger is weird. Of course, it's a gazillion times easier now to take pictures than when I grew up, given that everyone now carries a camera in their smartphone virtually 100 per cent of the time. Social standards on this issue may well be changing, and I'm of course borderline old.

And I did ask Mrs. T to take a picture of Mr. Wizard for my main event trip report, although he was of course the furthest thing from a hot girl.

You martingale and hit and run BJ. This is a strategy that lets you win a small amount very frequently and lose a ton or everything the other small % of the time.

Eventually that small % will hit.

It's definitely beatable long run, but you have to count cards and find the right game (i.e. no continuous shuffle, among other things). Basic strategy alone won't cut it. If you're not doing these things, then playing two hands rather than one will increase your chances of losing.

I'm no expert, but I did study it a bit years ago and am even now able to keep a running count without much difficulty.
