My job is driving me nuts. Thinking of quitting My job is driving me nuts. Thinking of quitting

Grear,

I think he's mad because he is in constant denial. So as people have said, he is mad itt because irl he is mad at himself. He writes whatever narrative in his head he can to pretend to be a great sports bettor. He ignores the fact he runs at about 65% lifetime picking -150s. He goes on hot streaks and in defiance yells out at everyone who doesn't believe in his skill, because he deep down knows he has none. Working collections for $16/hr in your mid 30s and then getting fired also probably results in this type of person a lot.
07-23-2015 , 09:00 AM
Also he very well may not realize the general affluence of the average 2+2er. He thinks owning a 250k house is something out of reach for many people, because it was out of reach for him. That repeats itself over and over in different categories.

I do agree with that obviously correct principle, but it has no application at all to a Beast. He does not suffer at all from IQ deficiencies. Self-awareness, discipline, impulse control, grit -- all of those are variants of a different set of problems that a Beast definitely has. Do failures on those points make someone a terrible person? Hell if I know. Until the situation is extreme, I have a hard time characterizing someone as a terrible person. Much of a Beast's schtick is just that -- deliberately over-the-top.

Captain jmakin and I had this discussion a bit back: I really don't believe that most people are "better" than most others. At the margins, sure, it's easy to make that judgment. Mohandes Ghandi was a "better" person than Jeff Dahmer. But am I a "better" person than anyone here? That question barely even makes any sense to me.

Do I think a Beast can overcome his drug, gambling, alcohol, and impulse-control problems? Hell if I know. I certainly hope so. I also have to say that but for the grace of god, there go I. And I'm not even slightly religious.

Anyway if u don't like me I couldn't care less because I don't like you at all. Feel free to bounce dude.

Don't let the door hit your lying angling assuming ass on the way out.
Wow, did he really expose himself to you? That's sick.

Is he bigger than Greear??

That's true and a pretty good way to look at things. I probably have many similar issues as a beast, especially anger and impulse control - but the difference between him and many (most?) of us here is we have dealt with our demons or are at least dealing with them in a way that mitigates harm to others, while beast embraces his. Whether or not you wanna say that makes him a good or a bad person is up to you but imo his complete willingness to take advantage of other people's kindness while simultaneously being unwilling to show any kind of gratitude to anyone whatsoever kinda tilts me into categorizing him in the "bad" camp.

Anyway, I'm here for the entertainment now, that definitely makes me a bad person because I totally lack empathy in this thread anymore. Excited for reno 2.0. Please continue giving us updates beast, **** the haters, you do you.

Also, whoever reported beast to EDD, I think you're a coward and kind of a pathetic person. Not that he didn't deserve it, but still. I can't fathom harboring that kind of animosity from this completely hilarious voyage of a thread, enough to get myself to try to destroy someone else's life over it. You're probably a really unhappy person.
07-23-2015 , 09:27 AM
Howard, he routinely wishes for people to die of cancer. He used to say he said this stuff jokingly, (even tho it's obv he was serious) but lately he has admitted that it's not a joke, and the world would be a better place if multiple people itt died. The death threats/wishes have steadily increased in frequency over the past couple of months.

If you don't think he has malicious intent, then you're either in denial, or a damn fool.
07-23-2015 , 09:29 AM
"**** the haters, you do you."

Jmakin, you have as many mood swings as babs. I'd go talk to someone.
07-23-2015 , 09:30 AM
How, iyo, has my mood changed from any of the other posts I've made recently?

You rotate posts and they come in 3 varieties depending on your mental state.

A) ripping on babs life
B) giving him advice for the 83rd time
C) rooting for him

"Was Ghandi a better person than Jeffrey Dahmer? I guess, but that question barely makes sense to me."

Might be a top 10 dumbest line in this thread.

I'm sure you have the other 9 locked up so you'd know.

I don't believe this to be true, lol.

If I had only been the owner of a real estate business, I would be a very different person today. I would be a harsh "Monopoly" winning jerk, focused only on winning at all cost.

But, I was a teacher, primarily junior high/middle school and that is what shaped me. When a student was acting out or mad at the world, my job was to figure out why and guide them back to happiness. It didn't really help to judge them or even wonder why they were lashing out at the world, I took them where they were and attempted to move forward.

I remember another little kid who, after being punched and screamed at, would be sent to school only to act out against the world too. He didn't need any more proof that the world was cruel, he already believed that to his soul. It was the people who proved him wrong that made the difference in his life.

I don't think he is dumb and I don't believe he is a terrible person.

Howard, I've been called a "Pollyanna" many times, lol.

I've seen thousands of people get clean and sober (or free from other addictions) and become the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

You are the very last person in the entirety of 2+2 (and perhaps the internet!) who should be writing this. You troll him endlessly (and even worse, humorlessly) and then complain that he responds in kind? Please...

Tyler, you're old and make very little sense. Go do a cross word puzzle or play bingo.

If beast had a "kill" button that he could tap whenever he wanted someone from this thread to actually die IRL, there's no doubt that a lot of posters would be dead.
07-23-2015 , 10:05 AM
It's nice that G10 takes on the role of being an intolerable ******* when babs can't be here.

God alone knows what this thread would be without one.

The whole world would be dead if Babs had a kill button. He'd think it would be great, like Burgess Meredith in that Twilight Zone ep before he broke his glasses. Except instead of him not being able to read books, he just wouldn't be able to gape the books.

I know Howard and Tyler got that reference.
07-23-2015 , 10:23 AM
Some of those old Twilight Zone episodes were absolutely spectacular TV.
07-23-2015 , 10:31 AM
If grear had a button we would be fine as long as it was stored on the top shelf.

Beast:

A couple years back when I was living in Minneapolis I adopted a kitten. This was around 2009 when the Twins had a pretty decent lineup. I named that kitten "Joe Meower." People told me I named the **** out of that cat.

A few years later (Meower ended up with an ex), while I was living in DC, I went to the city animal shelter and there was a cat there that immediately caught my eye. He had a clipped ear and so I asked the staff about that. They told me that the cat had been living on the DC streets and they had picked him up as a stray. Apparently many cities have programs where they pick up strays, fix them and give them shots, and then they release them onto the streets. They clip their ears so that animal services can easily see which cats have already been processed. Anyway, this cat apparently ended up back in their custody, nearly starving, with the conclusion that he wasn't really meant to be a stray and that he couldn't make it on his own. I adopted that cat. I named him Will Feral in homage to his history on the mean streets of DC.

So yeah, I named 2 cats like a complete boss, what the **** have you done with your life?
07-23-2015 , 10:47 AM
Beast has like a 1% shot at having a life more purposeful than giving 2 cool names to cats.

I think someone with the level of hate in him as babs is a terrible person. I don't think his "shtick" can come from someone who isn't filled with hate. I respect your right to disagree.

Agree with you re: trainwrecking, even for babs. But lol at his benefits being cut off destroying his life. Just like all his prior gambling debts, losing his job, etc, this won't affect him at all. I mean, come on, that happens and he's not even thinking about trying to get a job! As I stated earlier, I don't think he's been trainwrecked at all by anyone from this thread. If someone did report him to edd it's far more likely to be a former coworker. If his account of the edd convo is accurate, coworker is waaaaaay more likely than thread participant.

For whatever Pollyanna reasons of my own, you're the one person itt I think has any chance at all of accomplishing that. While I've written babs off as anything but a source of online entertainment, I still harbor a tiny bit of hope, and that is definitely part of why I participate itt. Would definitely be amazing to see you get through to him. However, I think that's near impossible as long as he continues to live a life where he never has to face any consequences.

you are so unbelievably dumb diablo it's amazing to me.

not being mean, it's the truth.

someone from this thread reported me to EDD
