it's enough to make me a little misty, at least until the dj drops some nickelback and i forget all my worries! a veritable cornucopia of minor chords and appropriately masculine admissions of regret!
Any particular reason why you're being a complete tool? Maybe just go ahead and post your suggestions rather than rip somebody else's?

Meh, don't know if someones already mentioned this one, but Gary Jules' "Mad World" is quite depressing imo.

This deserves more love.

Slipknot - Vermillion Part 2 (don't worry, there's no growling or anything crazy). I can't link to youtube, just search it.

Re: My Favorite Sad Songs (and Yours)

A song written by Tobe Keith for former college and NBA star Wayman Tisdale before his death upon learning he had cancer. After his NBA career he wrote and played some great jazz music.

Here is the song performed by Toby Keith

Jagged Edge - Goodbye
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSl1x0WBmrQ
The video has some emotional points for many people i am sure

Tempations - I Wish It would rain
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-es4Q8AJaU
Thought was a great sad song prior to Four Brothers but they nailed the usage in the film and try and hear this song after losing a loved one

Luther Vandross - Dance with my father again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBiYBCoovEQ
I got a call from my Mom years ago about my Dad having a stroke but no other details and while I rushed to hospital not knowing what was going on this came come as was popular at the time

Bill Withers - Hope She'll Be Happier
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMC-HvTiV4Q
I have pushed this song so much, just a great song and so sad and just a perfectly written and amazingly sung by one of the greats live.

Re: My Favorite Sad Songs (and Yours)

snow patrol- chasing cars
green day - wake me up when September's gone
blink 182 - adam's song
mad world - donnie darko
Eric Clapton - tears in heaven
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

before you flame, different songs make different people sad, depedning on the song, and what was/is going on in your life at the time.
