I really can't see why Lektor isn't thrilled by this perspective lol
Those people only exist in your fantasy. In reality, most of the ineligible voters are people like this:

Someone PMed campaigning for a vote for a politician so I’m going for Madison Beer.

When is someone gonna make the real vote tally with just the standard 100/10 rule?
Here we go

I remember some "Modern Family (it's okay she's 18)" thread in OOTV. Things have changed apparently

Haha wait what, he's the victim now? The dude brought it upon himself by enacting arbitrary rules. He wouldn't have to deal with any of this had he stuck with the universally agreed-on 10/100

He brought it upon himself when he let AOC/Lahren in. It was an obvious mistake, and was told so when there was still time. But another mistake would be not to try to mitigate - as fairly as possible - the effect of the inevitable trollfiesta that ensued.

As of right now, a large majority of the posters I see complaining is much more active in the Politics forums than in OOT. So I guess that even though the new rules aren't perfect, Lektor is doing an okay job at salvaging this thing.
01-25-2019 , 09:04 AM
Actually all the OOT posters were complaining that “Politics” posters were “invading OOT” despite being mostly eligible under the rules. They wanted their votes invalidated so Lektor changed the rules multiple times in order to get this accomplished and have AOC lose because OOT groupthink is that she’s a communist horse.

A few people have pointed this out and now get categorized as complaining when in reality it was the mainly OOT regulars that were super upset about the integrity of the contest and needed to change the rules to manipulate the outcome.

Haha, wait, salvaging? Again, you want to nominate someone relevant for reasons other than being an instagram model you've gotta deal with the results.

RE: complainers... You telling me bundy and all his whinging is an example of an active member of the politics forum? Face it: while AOC has attracted a following of politics regs, the vast majority of AOC voters aren't politics regs. She may not win thanks to arbitrary rulings by someone clearly opposed to her winning, but don't lie to yourself and pretend that it's because some crazy subforum took over your precious contest--it's because she's ****ing popular, bro.

That's right. She is popular. Politically popular.

How many others that have gone by the way side in the previous rounds have not had thousands if not millions of Twitter or Instagram followers?

They are popular too, right?
01-25-2019 , 09:50 AM
She's not politically popular with you, yet you voted for her.
01-25-2019 , 09:52 AM
I don't get your point. Of course they're popular too? Cindy Lou who from the house next door isn't getting nominated, obviously it requires popularity. The point was that AOC has a popularity above and beyond being an attractive scantily-clad 20-something. That I have to explain that to you exemplifies why you are the most common example of idiotic posters across multiple forums.

I get it. Her popularity stems from her political activities which is something none of the other girls have.

Why is Beer losing here?
What am I missing?
This is basically a "who's hottest" poll, right?

Hey Len,

Thanks for the PM advocating for AOC, you ****ing weirdo. No, I will not be taking you up on your offer but thanks for the invitation. Maybe some of the others who have had their inbox spammed by you will appreciate your enthusiasm but personally I find it kind of creepy.

Good luck with your efforts.

Taylor Swift did pretty well a few years ago. People just love Beer for her music.

New-to-thread guy gets PM'd to vote in an OOT poll. Goes to poll thread. Loses faith in his fellow man.
