Don't think I've ever not voted in a Ms OOT from the start tbh. Seen a lot of highs and lows, but this field is special. I think some of our "favorites" from years past could have crushed in this field.

On a more serious note, the main conflict here is that the votes for AOC are largely driven by politics. OOT has long and loudly been a space safe from politics, so when this politically-driven approval runs into a (nearly) purely subjective contest, there's bound to be earthquakes.

The aesthetic case for Robbie over AOC is so strong I don't think any Relevancy points can make up the shortcoming. Yes, that's all subjective: maybe Oscar-nominated actresses are really less relevant than newly-elected House freshman, or maybe brunettes are actually more fun than blondes. But at root for me is that the bulk of support for AOC is driven by politics, and OOT is a "no politics" forum. In fact, it's so anti-politics that it's self-described as being the antithesis of American politics: OOT is not a democracy! Mods are free to make decisions by fiat, and given the general tenor of OOT moderation, the general tenor of OOT daily discussion, and the specific manner of support for AOC, I'm OK with OOT mods disallowing wide swaths of now-mostly-Politics-posters-who-posted-in-OOT-a-decade-ago votes, and doing it unilaterally.

Also, none of this matters.
