While I think jman220's recommendation of counting all votes that aren't for AOC is the best way to stop the politard invasion, I'm fine with any approach that either removes any politics posters from the competition or merely ensures a loss for AOC. Either path is a good deterrent to this sort of thing happening again in the future.

I am not a Ms.OTTer even tho I am an OTTer. That said, that guy Chop makes a lot of sense from an outsider perspective. Seems like much of the purpose of this event is to give a bunch of nits a chance to argue over rules, a bunch of morons a chance to take things too seriously, a bunch of *******s a chance to mock and troll, a bunch of (small penis) mods a chance to threaten bans, a bunch of very weird dudes a chance to compare fap fantasy material, and 2+2 a bunch of ad impressions.

Lektor rules.

I offered to step down from the elimination rounds on. If someone with credibility (e.g. a mod) wants to take over from the semi-finals onwards that's still fine.
I understand that but someone has to make the decisions.

Are you suggesting that making people who are already mad on the internet even madder will encourage them to act more responsibly?

I'd completely support a "no political figure" rule for the competition. However, now that she's in, the genie's out of the bottle. Why people are voting for her is irrelevant, as long as the voters are legitimately allowed to vote.

You did not answer the question that he asked. I checked two of your names and neither of them meet the 10 posts in OOT in 2018 criteria.

Politards are not a protected class. Its like saying you shouldn't be able to hunt deer because you aren't allowed to hunt bald eagles.

Lektor,

I think something like “20 OOT posts this year and you’re definitely in, but exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis for longtime OOT posters who haven’t posted in 2p2/OOT that much this year” is a reasonable way to address the issue you’re trying to prevent.

That way you can automatically pass through the 20+ posters, take a quick look to review the 10+ posters, and let ones with less than that make a case for their participation if they want to vote.

Thanks again for doing your best to run this in the spirit of the contest.

That would be changing the rules again!

They did indeed.

we are currently at 846 and not even thru the round of 8 yet. Lektor should be commended for re-invigorating community interest in Ms OOT and surpassing all previous discussion thread records.
Well the politics forum would be the most active (or second most active on this site behind sporting events) Ms. OOT 2018 Discussion thread.

I've ran forums before - this would be easy.

There should be a rule for ousting people with 20+ posts in OOT who should still be ineligible if there is a rule excepting those with less.

I've posted at least once every couple months in OOT for more than a decade totaling more than 500 posts, and I have 0 lifetime posts in Politics, but I can't vote because I'm a Politics reg?

If POG didn't have a politics thread would this still be true?

I would support soah voting in Ms OOT.

This is clearly the right answer.

I'll be honest. I only came in to vote AOC because I think the contest has gone down hill in the last few years and the rustling of jimmies was outstanding. It was a joke until my OOT status was challenged and **** got real.

I also think lektor has actually done a pretty reasonable job given the constraints.

In the spirit of reconciliation, I will abstain from voting, now that my voting rights have been justly reinstated.

I only posted 8 times last year.
