"In past Ms. OOTs, voting rules required that participants be registered before October of this year, have at least 100 total posts, and at least 10 posts in OOT (OOTV doesn't count). Owing to attrition, the lack of new blood in OOT, and the poor quality of last year’s competition, we’re going to relax those rules a bit in order to encourage some better nominations and a more active contest. If you want to ensure that you qualify to vote, bring something to the table in this thread:"

So basically anyone above who doesn't have 10 posts in OOT and didn't participate in the nominations thread should not have their vote counted. In a close contest a mod may have to check some of them out, but a fair number of the above seem to be long established posters.
You should probably do that on AOC this round to just save your self time in future rounds. There are several of those that I'm pretty sure have < 10 in OOT (although they are established on 2+2) and did not nominate.

It may not matter this round (although it could), but when things tighten up, it likely will.

Having to nominate to vote rule is stupid.

It's OOT reg OR nominated.

So if you're a reg, you didn't have to nominate.

Seems perfectly fine to me.

Is the participation in nomination thread or OOT reg a new rule? I though it was just 2p2 member before certain date/X number of total posts/X number of posts in OOT. Pretty sure I qualify based on the latter, but definitely not on the former. If so, you can cancel my votes in Group A/B and I won't participate this year.

I'd say let everyone vote. Are people really trying to stuff the ballot for this stupid ****?

OOT reg defined as having posted at least 10 times ever.

Newcomers are also welcome if they were active in the nomination thread.

In that case people could create an unlimited amount of gimmicks to vote on their favourites

Oh, for some reason I thought it was 10 in the last year.

If you can dig up 10 posts from 2010 and nothing since, that doesn't really sound like a reg to me.

But you're actually putting in the effort into running it, so whatever you want to do is fine.

Of the people on that list, very few are regular Politics posters. The vast majority I don't even think have posted in politics to my recollection.

Kick AOC and Tomi out and be done with it. The politards can run their own competition on their own board.

Shame the lefties couldn't see the big picture and vote for her to give her the ultimate showdown with AOC.

1) If you are going by the literal post you quoted, then you should be relaxing those rules a bit, which means the minimum number of posts in OOT is some # < 10 ever.

2) If you are going by the meaning of the post you quoted, which is clearly stated in the rules of the previous contest which that post refers to, then the only qualifications are a pre-October registration date and an account in good standing, no minimum # of OOT posts at all.

Please take those 2 points into consideration when finalizing your vote eligibility determinations.

Because it's difficult to count "posts ever" by subforum from a non-mod account, under Rule 7 of the Ms. OOT regulations I am introducing a new enhanced voter eligibility determination system from the Sweet Sixteen onwards. Software is currently being developed to encode certain key criteria and run it.

Like the current system it will be designed so as to enable all OOTers to vote.

Not necessarily. 10, but less than 10 for anyone who has done work in the nominations thread is relaxed compared to a hard and fast rule of 10.

Group C now open for voting.

BTW does this discussion thread need the NSFW tag? If so could a mod add it?

Seeing as how pretty actresses have won LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE Ms. OOT contest ever, I predict that either Margot Robbie (favorite) or Emma Stone (underdog) is going to win Ms. OOT 2018. No one else even has a chance.

There are going to be plenty of lawnmowers in orbit if/when AOC gets rat****ed by the "new enhanced voter eligibility determination".

And if she doesn't, it will just be different lawnmowers.

Either way, I'll get the popcorn ready.
