Re: Ms. OOT 2018 Discussion thread.

It seems pretty clear to me that it would be unfair to change the voting eligibility in the middle of the contest.

I don't understand why we ever deviated from the 100/10 rule that was in place for so many years, apparently up until last year.

This.

It's actually hilarious how insanely triggered numerous people in this thread became once they realised a brown skinned politician might win their masturbation contest.

Seeing as I am eligible to vote, I will vote AOC in every round and sell my vote to the highest bidder in rounds that don't include her.

We've always banned people who are trolling the contest, for example:

This year is unique in that there are a lot of people from other subforums who are coming with the stated aim of attempting to "trigger" us.

I ignored all the people who wanted me to throw AOC out. She is a legitimate a candidate as any other. She will be a legitimate winner, as long as the regular voters, who accept what Ms. OOT is, want her to be.

As for her politics, I'm not American and I don't care, though when I was eligible to vote in the UK I supported candidates who believed in free university too.

Ironically, I don't see many triggered people ITT, except for the Politics forum members annoyed that you're making their trolling more difficult, and that strongly believe that in 2019, Ms OOT could be "fap material" and that their votes can be bought. Like, actually bought from someone that'd care enough.

Makes you wonder who it is that actually TRULLY cares about how this **** fiesta goes at this point lol

You literally just countered a bunch of hardcore political posters by denying them the right to vote. This is troll levels I didn't even think we're possible.
You have no unalienable right to post or vote on twoplustwo.

Remember the good ol' days when everyone's biggest complaint was Lektor's weird penchant for saying Rape charge over and over? I miss those days.

Whatever Lektor's reasons were, this was obviously the wrong decision. It is clearly immoral and tyrannical to disqualify hundreds of people, over half of the voters. The right thing to do would be to simply reverse this decision, go back to last year's rules, or at least this year's and the historical 100/10, and continue on. If this does not happen, I can only assume that Lektor is trolling his own competition, making himself and this current competition a laughingstock, and invalidating the subsequent results by his actions.

The new mid-competition rules change is so obtuse that it shows no understanding of OOT, Ms OOT, or democracy. For example, under the new mid-competition rules change, Lektor has arbitrarily disqualified the following posters from voting, should they wish to:

El Diablo
Yeti
Alobar
killa
LFS
Larry Legend
daryn
mmbt0ne
lonely_but_rich

ChipWrecked
REDeYeS88
Bluegrassplayer
Banned4lyfe
BluffMyNuts
Neil S
fuluck414

This is not an exhaustive list, and there are many more that could be on it, the point is simply that the new mid-competition rules change is nonsensical and should not be used. I mean, Lektor decided on his own to disqualify every single OOT mod other than 27offsuit!

The only fair solution is to allow all voters, and disqualify those who do not meet the 100/10 former rule, should Lektor choose to utilize that. Continuing on the current path would be asinine.

This is not about WHO wins but about HOW they win. I don't think lektor has any issues with AOC winning if it is OOTs wish.

Under the new nonsensical mid-competition rules change, there is no way to know what OOT's wish is, since half of OOT was disqualified, including you.

Re: Ms. OOT 2018 Discussion thread.

Been around a long time, only have a couple thousand OOT posts. Most likely have voted in every one of these contests ever. Like Gregorio, only tend to vote in those rounds that are close or otherwise compelling. The mid-stream rule change is dumb. We get that you don’t like one of the contestants. Just go ahead and say whoever you wanted won rather than twisting yourself like a pretzel and looking foolish. Regards.

It was an in-good-faith change in an effort to keep the devil out (extreme brigadering in a different subforum with the goal of trolling OOT). If I wanted to have a say in this I probably should have voted in the competition (which I would have under normal circumstances). Its hard to fix something without having some people being caught up in the middle.

Re: Ms. OOT 2018 Discussion thread.

If it was truly in good faith, then Lektor should now in good faith reverse that decision and return to the original and historical rules that he himself said he would go by. Even if the intention is to disqualify posters from other forums who are not also OOT posters, this is obviously a terrible implementation of that, as it disqualifies many of OOT's best posters, mods, and tons of eligible and past voters. If this decision is not reversed, now that this enormous error has been pointed out, then it can only be concluded that the decision was made in bad faith as well as bad judgment, and deserves to be pilloried as such.

I've seen a lot of pathetic **** in the 10 years I've been on 2p2. This is easily the most pathetic. I actually feel sorry for you lame little snowflakes who couldn't handle AOC winning. If posters met your eligibility requirements that were set at the beginning of this pathetic competition then they should be allowed to vote.

Claiming "collusion" because people posted in Politics is super lol. You all could go post in whatever sub forum you'd find fellow AOC haters, and if those people met the eligibility requirements then they could vote too.

Just a massive lol at all of you, particularly Lektor and Bundy. Sad, sad, boys.

This is not about hating on AOC, this is about brigadering. Ms OOT is not having to look for other sub forums and convince them to vote for your candidate to stop another subforum from ruining a communities contest.

Do you guys have any other solutions or are you just screaming stuff from the sidelines?

No solution is needed. If the rules were that you need 100 OOT posts and a join date before the start of the competition, then eligible voters should be allowed to vote. Change the rules next time if you don't like the loud brown politician winning.

Re: Ms. OOT 2018 Discussion thread.

I apologize to the likely hundreds of eligible voters and many great OOT posters that Lektor is attempting to disenfranchise. I could not create an exhaustive list, and my post does not specifically mention many, many people who should be on there.

d10, amead, and Coasterbrad should be on the list and should obviously be eligible Ms OOT voters.

If other "should be eligible" voters want to post here, I will add to the list and re-post it as needed.

If the rules are being abused a change is obviously justified. I don't mind brown politicians, its just that I like them having a dick.
