This has ended up an absolute disgrace (not that I didn't predict this when the politards chose to get involved and push AOC's case further than they ought to considering the alternatives).

Just mark this year down with as an asterisk re politards ruining it and have next year with no politics as the forum rules dictate anyway.

Let an AOC voter run it too to show that they truly care about the contest and this wasn't just an attempt to politicize these forums even more.

I thought lektor had done a decent job of this, but that last rule change was just nuts.

After all the effort to decide the eligibility list, you can't just close the vote early after someone sent some One.

Not sure how anyone decides on this being a decent job. It is pretty clear he had some agenda in mind when he decide to run the contest and when the winds changed and the unforeseen happen he went crazy to try and keep his agenda on track.

As noted previously, it was “Bad Contesting” through and through. AOC was legitimately nominated but after that things just derailed as 11 semi tractor trailers broke down in the process of moving the goal posts so much.

If he legitimately wanted to run the contest and meet the will of the people he would not have taken the actions he did. As has been stated endlessly the eligibility rules for voters have stood forever. There was never any need to tamper with them let alone start removing and changing things based on pm campaigning including closing the vote early.

No matter what happens Lektor should be banned from ever using the “poll” option in OOT ever again or face a permanent ban.

I haven't quite figured out whether the trolling by the politards in this contest was about trying to combat the deficiences in AOC's looks compared to the other better looking candidates by trying to assert her relevance or whether it was complete trolling of OOT in general and some need to assert some political dominance where they felt that they were being threatened. I'm thinking the latter.

Please update us when this one is noodled through to the end. The suspense is excruciating.
