This thread features the first Ms. Attainability Play-In Round. Top two in each round plus the next two top vote getters advance into the main competition. Polls will be open for 5 days.

The rules are simple:
  1. Pick the three women you think should move on to the main competition.
  2. If you vote for more than three women, all of your votes will be voided.
  3. To increase voter participation, this year we’re relaxing the voting requirements. To vote, you must have been registered since before October 2017 and have an account in good standing (i.e. not be a troll with a history of bad posting, infractions, or bans). If you vote on more than one account or I think you're a gimmick, your vote(s) will not count. Ineligible votes may result in bans.

Make sure you go through the thread before voting. The pictures in the OP are just a sample. If you’re not sure who to vote for, wait until the gifs and other photos get posted in the thread to avoid regrets later.

Haley Bennett: Howard’s been trying so hard to get her in, I just couldn’t say no again. Last year she had two solid performances in The Girl on the Train and The Magnificent Seven. She has launched an impressive career arc and we will be seeing much more of her in the years to come.

Natalia Poklonskaya
: During the 2014 Crimean crisis, she was appointed Prosecutor General of Crimea; a press conference given by Poklonskaya on that day resulted in her becoming an Internet phenomenon and manga sex symbol in Japan. She’s now a member of the Russian Duma and a potential candidate for the Russian presidential elections in 2018. My money’s still on Putin.

Sofia Boutella
: Sofia’s an Algerian–French dancer, model, and actress. She is known mainly for her hip-hop and street dance, and for appearing in Nike Women's advertising campaigns.

Beyonce: It’s always great when Ms OOT brings to our attention a fresh new talent. I’ve been hearing lots of great things about Beyonce, and I think her career’s about to take off.

Rebecca Ferguson: Rebecca’s a Swedish actress best known for her lead role as Elizabeth Woodville in The White Queen, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination, and her starring roles as Ilsa Faust in Mission: Impossible–Rogue Nation.

Hunter King: Hunter portrayed Adriana Masters on Hollywood Heights and now plays Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless and Clementine Hughes on Life in Pieces.

Clearly Beyonce is the most attainable of everyone in this contest.

Big step down in attractiveness from the IG whores imo. Only felt compelled to vote Natalia.

Beyonce is hot, but feels "too big" for a contest like this somehow.

I'm an OOT noob.

Attainability poll? Does a 2+2 rando have a chance of obtaining one of these broads?

Oh and Beyoncé is busted.

When posters get butthurt that their choice lost to someone they think is less hot, they often complain that people must have voted for her because she's more "attainable" rather than more attractive, especially if she's played a relatable character on a TV show or in a movie.

For example, Alison Brie only beat that Victoria's Secret model because she's more attainable, i.e. they think they'd have a shot with her.

Lol'ed at Beyonce in this. Good one Greg.

This round sucks. Hunter is the only one that deserves to move on. Would much much rather have another IG girl like Bryana or Yovanna in the main, than another one of these busted chicks.

For previous Ms. OOT competitions I never understood why people would make posts stating that they absolutely couldn't bring themselves to cast a vote in a particular grouping—until I had to consider placing a vote in the Ms. OOT 2017: Ms. Attainability Round #1... and three times no less.

Thread saver:

Spoiler:
Best Ms. OOT competition structure ever Gregorio ... even if I couldn't bring myself to throw some ***** a bone this round.

Does being established make some one better looking or better in this competition? Would Oprah make it out of a round... nope. I do agree the minority voting is pretty pathetic but maybe we need better candidates.

Lol at "established". How do you think super-established, super-white Meryl Streep would do in this competition?

Correct. Beyonce 10-15 years ago would have had a better chance to go farther. Beyonce today does not.

Rei, Greg, or others, do you know how far Beyonce ever made it in earlier years?

Peak Halle was incredible.

And 1997 Tyra Banks. That SI cover was everywhere.

Yes, I was just asking out of curiousity, and thought Rei or someone might be good enough to post the answer, which he did, thx.

I did not think that the answer would necessarily prove a point either way. My time frame for Beyonce was 10-15 years ago, but I don't think that Beyonce was the peak black candidate. I think there are others that could have fared better.

I don't think this necessarily proves anything either, but Rei or others - do you know how well Halle Berry ever did? Was it round of 16?
