Proctalgia fugax (or levator syndrome) is a severe, episodic, rectal and sacrococcygeal pain.

Looks like it got edited but the wiki used to refer to it as an anal charlie horse. It was pretty accurate.

I broke my arm earlier this year - not a major break with the bones sticking out or anything like that, but one of my forearm bones snapped all the way through. The break hurt, but the really painful thing was when they pushed the bone back in place before putting on a cast. They did it with no painkillers and they really applied a lot of pressure - like one 180 pd guy was pulling on my arm with his whole weight while the other doctor was pushing as hard as he could on the bone where is was broken.

Kidney stone AINEC. (LOL, I typed this up before vixticator posted).

I was in the shower when a pain appeared deep in my lower back area. It seemed like maybe just a random pain from food moving through the intestine or something that would go away. So I was just waiting it out. But it got worse, and worse, and worse, to the point that I nearly passed out from the pain. So I quick got out of the shower, laid on the floor of my bathroom, and elevated my feet against the wall so I wouldn't pass out. That position alleviated the pain enough to where I was able to get dressed.

Fast forward to the ER, I'm sitting in a wheelchair in the ER admitting office getting asked 20 questions by some lady who doesn't appreciate that I'm not in a position to give her my complete medical history, since I could barely form a sentence the pain was so bad.

They put me in a ER room, where I proceed to vomit into the sink because of the pain, which caused me to get yelled at by a nurse because I'm supposed to know to vomit in some other container that I didn't notice.

They give me an IV with some kick ass pain killer, and I'm feeling great. They take a scan and find out that it was only 2mm in size, which is small enough to safely pass.

They give me a funnel with a screen on the bottom to piss into to catch the stone, and tell me to schedule an appointment with a urologist to have the stone examined once it passes. They also give me a Vicodin prescription.

Fast forward to one week later (a week of pissing into a funnel mind you, which isn't at all awkward in a public style restroom at work), and this little tiny flake of a thing pops out my pee hole and into the bottom of the funnel screen. It was a beautiful moment, as I was finally freed from the shackles of this evil jagged piece of calcium.

Bottom line, drink more water. You don't want to ever have a kidney stone.

I forgot one because it happened so long time ago.
I was riding my bike downhill and tried to pop a wheelie.
Well during this process my front tire dropped off and I face plant the asphalt.
I had a helmet thanks to being a smart kid. The helmet snapped in half and my face was totally in blood. There was nothing to be done, I had to use a straw for eating for 2 weeks.
My face was so swollen I could not open my mouth to eat.

Nut cancer.

The tumor in my nut grew so fast it cut off the blood supply. Then it went necrotic and ruptured.

Never felt anything like it. When the ultrasound came back at the ER the doc said, "Yeah, there's a mass there, that testicle has to come off, sign here."

"OK, hurry the **** up."

During an ultimate tournament I suffered a complete tear of my ACL and a partial tear of the meniscus. It hurt at the time, but most of what I was feeling was just shock at watching my knee bend 90 degrees outward. Anyway, I chose to repair it with a cadaver ligament rather than a synthetic one. In this process they drill a hole through your leg bone, pull the ligament through and tie it off. The morning after surgery I woke up, with all my meds completely worn off and could acutely feel the hole they drilled in my bone. Hurt worse than anything I have ever felt. Crawled into my bathroom, took a handful of LorTabs and just laid on the floor crying until the pain lessened.

Prolly when I got kicked in the junk when I was little. I just remember rolling around on the floor screaming and crying for a good 5 minutes while my mom just kept on vacuuming the house. I remember thinking "why isnt she doing anything for me" but looking back, obviously wtf was she gunna be able to do?

so yeah, Ive lead a really pain free life. I bruised my ribs once and that hurt like ****, but really its not that big a deal.

I do live in fear of getting a kidney stone someday tho, that **** sounds INSANELY painful. I should prolly google to see how to help avoid them. My mom gets them all the time so if they are genetic I could be ****ed.

I shattered my proximal humerus a couple of months ago. Unbelievable pain, worst I've ever experienced. Had to have surgery. Now my shoulder is titanium.

Childbirth. The labor part was not too bad, but the actual crowning, tearing my lady business apart in three places bit was terrible.

Broken arm when I was 11. I used to roller blade down this slide at the neighborhood playground regularly to impress all the other kids, and then one day this girl said "you're going to fall and break your arm if you do that", and boom, fell and broke my arm on the very next attempt. She started crying and apologizing profusely.

never broken a bone in my body, sprained my ankle once

but, my answer for this thread without a doubt is when i got OC/pepper sprayed a couple weeks ago as part of some security training

here's a youtube vid of pretty much what i went through, i am getting chills just watching it

so glad they had a strict 'no youtube' policy in my class, because i was screaming like a total bitch

i got sprayed high on my forehead, so it really didn't hit me until about halfway through the fight stations, and when it did, it stopped me dead in my tracks (i was sprinting trying to get through it before it got in my eyes)

the next 30+ minutes after it hit me were pure agony, the only thing that works to get rid of it is scrubbing with baby shampoo and rinsing with whole milk, but you're reflashing every time you apply the baby shampoo, it's so awful

still made it into work less than 4 hours later though

same. hit some grass, flew up and landed in the middle of the road and rolled into a stop sign. snapped my collar bone in half with it sticking straight up... my friend comes over and says:

"you ok?"
"no man... I'm broke, I broke my collar bone."
"you sure?"
:::moves t-shirt over to reveal the broken bone::: "yup, I'm sure."

I still got up and skated back to my friends house... I was sitting in her kitchen and my friends asked if I needed anything. I pointed to a pot... they handed me the pot and I immediately starting throwing up, which only made it worse. I've broken bones before, even my other collar bone, but this was a completely new type of pain where my body just felt broken.

So my friend drives me to the ER and the ER nurse looks me over and tells me there's nothing she can do, my shoulder is so inflamed/swollen that an x-ray wouldn't be helpful (I still doubt/dont understand this)... so without giving me pain meds they released me and asked me to come back in two-three days (or I could stay in the hospital w/ no insurance). Now I realize that I didn't ask for pain meds, I was still in shock at the time. That night was awful. Next day I made some calls to friends and got in to see a sports specialist who put me in 2 different slings (one to keep my back straight and another to keep my arm immobile) for a few months.

It was a real intense pain. My entire upper body felt completely broken and every movement resulted in random pops and muscle strains.

Since this is a poker site I'll tell this one: I was playing online and was all in and hit a four-outer on the river to win a huge pot. When the river hit, I threw my hands up in the air ... and smashed to top of my right hand on the underside of the desk. I thought I broke it. I remember thinking I've never been in this much pain and simultaneously this happy before.

ICM,

they didnt even like put it back where it belongs? I know they cant do anything for a colar bone, but like if its sticking straight up, seems like they should have to at least set it or something? Brutal.

I've run hot wrt pain so far. I got a severe bone bruise on my tibia a couple years ago by being hit by a line drive while pitching a homerun derby. My leg from the ankle down looked like that of a cadaver. Walking pain lasted several weeks if not months, bruise lasted a year. No structural damage though, just bone bruise. Pain meds didn't help for ****. Pitched since 3rd grade and never got hit by a ball, it was scary enough to make me think I might only pitch in wood bat leagues from here on out. It could have been a lot worse. In before shattered wood bat puncturing my heart.

Not looking forward to kidney stones though. Drank a ****load of soda my entire life and basically resigned to the fact it's gonna happen. Every man I've talked to who has passed them said it's the worst pain they've felt. It scared my father in law so much that he stopped drinking all soda cold-turkey after passing them.

Broke my hip last year. The pain I went through in the hospital was worse than the pain from the actual fall. Two times I remember in particular. One, when they moved me from the emergency room to my hospital room. You've probably seen spine boards before, those boards they put under football players when they suspect a serious injury. They didn't use one for my first move. They wheeled the stretcher to my room and needed to move me to my bed. So they just took the sheets out from under me and carried me to the bed using the sheets. Oh My God, that hurt. (Every time they moved me, before and after that time, they used a spine board and there was no additional pain.

The other time was my first X-Ray. They needed to take an X-ray of me laying on my back, which was fine. Then they needed an X-Ray of me at a 45 degree angle to the bed. So, again, they pulled the sheets I was laying on and just held me at a 45 degree angle.

Both times, I was already on pain meds, so I can't imagine how much pain I would have been in without the meds.

At one of the follow up appointments after one of my Pilonital Sinus operations the doc had to pull out the drainage tube at the top of my buttocks cleft (complete with rubber drainage baggy you pinned to your pants).

Pretty emasculating tearing up in front of a young receptionist.

Haha, yeah, I wiped out on hard ice at full speed while I was attempting to learn to snowboard. I did another couple of runs until lunch because I didn't want to wuss out, but every time I even thought I was going to fall I was throwing myself on my arms or my head to avoid landing on my backside.

Holy **** that ****ing hurt, and it was pretty painful for a good two weeks.

Different strokes, of course, but OC spray doesn't even crack my top five most painful. It's more prolonged, but otherwise not really any more painful from getting anything else in your eye. I didn't enjoy it, but it doesn't rate that highly for me since once you finally clear it out, you're good to go. Most of my most painful injuries lasted much longer than the 15-20 minutes it took to clear the OC spray.

One guy in my glass took like 45 minutes, tho. He was not a happy camper.

I was just thankful that I had short hair - the other woman in my class re-contaminated herself that night when she took a shower.

Sounds like a line drive I took once while pitching that fortunately hit my calf muscle instead of the bone. I couldn't lace my boot when I went to work later that night, and all the guys (my coworkers) just stood there laughing after I fell to the ground like I'd been shot. The guy who hit was laughing so hard he was almost crying, and he was pointing at me and yelling "I can see it bruising from here!"

****ing bastards. My leg was discolored in that spot for over a year.
