See 150 on the scale for the first time since 2004 is pretty motivating.

I loaded up on Greek yogurt and beef jerky for some low calorie, high protein snacks. Looking for no higher than 147 by the 15th, which would be halfway to goal in half the time.

Also had to buy some new jeans as I've sized out of a bunch of my old ones. I mean I'm a fan of the baggy jeans looks, I was pretty big into the 90s grunge thing, but some of them are pretty ridiculous at this point.

I mean it's not something I did personally.

I'm a huge Star Trek fan (duh) and this is the Vulcan calligraphy for Kol-Ut-Shan, the principle of IDIC (infinite diversity in infinite combinations). Combine my Trek love, the fact Spock was my favorite character, the fact I thought it just looked cool, and the fact I find the underlying theme meaningful, and it seemed like a good choice for me.

As an odd coincidence, this week is also the 50th anniversary of the first airing of the original series. I didn't intentionally plan that (my next tattoo was my allowed self reward for hitting 150, I decided that at the beginning of the year), but funny how that worked out.

Would have gone at like 3/4 that size, but I'm not judging.

I thought it was a weird series of treble clefs.

RJ, whilst I like the tat, I think you might need a small correction at the 'top' near the wrist.

My inner sad geek is slightly offended.

There was some ink still smeared near the top.

While the line is a little off on the wrist (I assume due to the thinness of the skin there) I think the tattooist did as well as possible with the intricate little swirl given the size. I would have needed it as a back piece for it to have been "perfect" but if I can't see it what's the point (IMO). She told me in advance the little swirls might be a bit muddled. It was either live with some loss of small detail to get it where I want or move it to a larger section of skin.

So the interior of the swirl design isn't perfect, no. But I think the ink smear still there is definitely misleading, it's not warped or bent like that. I didn't notice that in this pic until you posted that close up.

Thanks RJ. This week would've been better, but went out to watch the Broncos/Panthers game last night, and beer & wings happened. Probably 2 weeks from weighing it at 195.

I've pretty much already assumed you're going to make goal weight in time. For you the challenge will be in maintaining. For me in getting there as close to exactly on time as possible without going over.

It's been a few weeks since I checked in here. Again, I'm so damn proud of the both of you, and way more emotionally invested in this than I should be considering that you're perfect strangers to me, but I am invested in y'all journeys because I'm on this ride myself right now. I'm inspired by your hard work. Thanks to the both of you for being a part of my tribe, whether you knew you were or not.

Hit 1xxlbs. for the first time in 20+ years on the 23rd. Down something like 50lbs. in about 3.5 months, 70lbs. less than my highest.

Today I was grateful that I've been hoarding some of my favorite teenage clothes because at 40 I can fit into them again! It's nice to wear shirts that don't have any numbers in the sizing. There's still an 'X', but not for long.
