What's a good nickname? The Red Devils?
11-23-2016 , 02:22 PM
That is an awful nickname but they are not nicknames but actual names, I suppose it's what ur used to but 'the wizards' or 'the rockets' or 'the galaxy' just seem really juvenile to me
11-23-2016 , 02:28 PM
Btw no one actually ever says the Red Devil's

Big,

Good point, instead of juvenile names like Rockets and Wizards, should have mature name like Gunners and Rovers.

there is apparently a difference between the "pittsburgh steelers" being an official name and fans simply calling arsenal the gunners

I thought he meant the opposite. That's why I asked.

Well, the "Washington Bullets" was too grown up, so they had to pussify it.

The Baltimore Bullets had a solid alliteration going.

Once I realized that, I had more respect for the change of names to the Washington Wizards.

How do we feel about "Golden State Warriors"?

I never liked the idea of giving the team a more general name just because it moved out of the more famous city.

When the SF Warriors moved they should have become the Oakland Warriors.

The Anaheim Angels should have always been and always remained so.

The one exception I'll grant is the Texas Rangers because that's an amazing name with historical significance.

If you think about it the Los Angeles Angels is really a horrible name.
11-23-2016 , 04:05 PM
Theyre the LA angels of anaheim you stupid little marmosets

Got no problem with the Warriors. It's weird because I think the old Jason Richardson era uniforms better exemplified the nickname but the current ones look infinitely better. Might as well be 'The Bridges' now.

I hate the non-plural ones as discussed but love the New Orleans Jazz as a team name. It's the only instance of that I don't mind. The Spirits of St. Louis is my pick for WOAT team name. Despite being probably the GOAT negotiators.

They also actually played in Los Angeles to start with. The "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" thing is goofy and shouldn't even be acknowledged.

Just saw a commercial for my local Chevy dealership. They were advertising a Black Friday special where if you trade in your car and buy a used car, you get a second used car for $1.

I'm not in the market for a new car so I really don't car beyond curiosity, but wondering if anyone has ever seen something like this and what the catch is

As it happens, Sonoma State in Rohnert Park had to change their name from the Cossacks to the Seawolves because of gape, among other things

I meant as long as they were IN Anaheim. They were the California Angels when they first moved.
