that's where the other trick comes into play, get his attention and pretend his toy bit me, i say the "ow" thing a few times while pretending it's biting me and then i just wail on it, like really beat the hell out of his toy, this is not lost on him and he won't bite me for a few days as a result of witnessing what happened to his toy when his toy bit me
otherwise he's good, super affectionate, super vocal, really aggressive, ie he kind of forces me to play with him, especially when i first wake up in the morning, when i'm asleep he lets me chill but if i move even a little bit in the morning he jumps up and annoys the hell out of me until i play with him and if i stop playing with him before he's done he resumes annoying me, he's also particularly good at coming out of nowhere and slamming my laptop shut on my hands if i am working and don't play with him so i'm often forced to hold a cat stick with a toy on the end with one hand while working with the other - super annoying at times but i've read this stage will pass and none of the adult cats i ever had were like that
his 2 brothers and sister are a lot more active downstairs now but we rarely
see the mom these days, we can see them hanging out together if we head out at night, we even bought him a collar and a leash with the idea of taking him out and letting him play with them - more just an experiment to see if they recognize each other etc
considered adopting another member of his family but they are very well fed by our neighbors, live in a vacant store front (they crawl under a gap in the door) that should be vacant for a long time due to covid/region still under construction and by now they are fully fledged feral cats - we did in fact grab the sister and take her back to our place briefly and while our kitty was very interested in her, she was freaking out and pretty much destroyed the bathroom we kept her in until she acclimated frantically running around and then given the complications of timing the spading properly without running the risk of bro impregnating her and how she was clearly fully feral by that point (her bro was purring in our arms from day one) we decided to bring her back to her family that same night
this last one is his infamous "not gonna let you look at your laptop screen until you play with me for 20 minutes" move

Bro do you not realize when a cat scratches or bites that means it wants 2 either play rough wit u or for u 2 stop touching it? no need to mutilate his nails, do play acting wit his toy n exaggeratedly scream “owie” just firmly tell him “no, bad” n dont try 2 pet him 4 awhile
my old cat would play wit me by scratchin me but never bite me and i never even told her “no” just varying intensity levels of “gentle” new cat likes to bite which i dont rly mind unless she leaves marks so i just stop petting her n tell her “gentle” when she starts to get rough and “no, too rough” when she starts 2 hurt me n that has got her in line

Have a family of hummingbirds hanging out in and around my lemon tree for the past week or so. I had 4 of them dive bombing me and dog fighting up in the sky above my backyard last night. Not sure if they have a nest in the tree or somewhere nearby or what, but I think at least 3 of them are juveniles. They're kind of fuzzy looking and have no coloration, just a drab grayish.
