Between his sister doing a good job as Connie and his father killing it with the music, Francis Ford Coppola had been running hot with the nepotism in that trilogy. Casting Sofia was just a really unfortunate heat check.

I know she's a very respected director, and I've never doubted her rep, but I don't actually think I've seen any of her films. I realize that I need to see Lost in Translation at the very least.

TIL Winona Ryder was cast as Mary Corleone

Quote:
The young actress landed in Rome shortly after Christmas, accompanied by her boyfriend, TV heartthrob Johnny Depp. She had just finished work on Mermaids for Orion, and had only one day before she was scheduled for her first scene. She spent it at Cinecitta, the Italian film center where Godfather III was headquartered, being fitted and coiffed for the shoot. She appeared quite tired, and several production staffers noticed that something seemed to be wrong. But she had only a couple of lines to deliver the next day, and they let it pass.

She never answered her call. Later, Depp telephoned the studio and said that Winona wasn't well, that she couldn't get out of bed, and that she wouldn't be able to play her scene that day. Fred Roos, another longtime Coppola associate and a co-producer of the film, immediately dispatched the production's doctor to the young actress's bedside. After examining her, the doctor declared that Ryder was suffering from nervous collapse. She could not work, he said, and if she tried, she would suffer a complete breakdown.

I just remembered that Jon Bon Jovi had a brief turn as an abusive husband and father in Pay It Forward. Now that was something. Can't imagine why he didn't stick with acting.

I heard You Give Love a Bad Name in my car today

I still think of him as the suggested presenter for the picture of Whistler's Mother in the Bean movie.

A guy I trade work with was on his boat yesterday and a car hit the guardrail on the bridge going over the water and an infant got thrown over the bridge into the water.

Someone on the bridge jumped off the bridge (20-25 feet) and grabbed the infant.

The guy i know pulled his boat up and picked up the guy/infant and took them to firemen, etc waiting a shore.

He has sold the video to TMZ and will be on Inside Edition tonight. Not sure if this should piss me of not.

I heard from a few dealers at the Borgata that Bill Gates would occasionally go there and play freaking 3/6 limit. And that he would play it super seriously.

Yep. 3/6 limit.

When there's no difference between playing 3/6 and 30/60 to your personal finances and you're just playing to win without basically any financial incentive, 3/6 might be the more enjoyable game.

Id heard of a story of him playing 3/6 at Mirage years ago, and Jen Harman or some such goes over and invites him to play in their 400/800 game if he'd like to play a little higher.

Supposedly he replied that he would join if they'd raise the limit to (something absurd, like 6 figure bets). So he just kept on playing 3/6.

I like it.

Now that he's getting divorced, he won't even be able to afford 3/6 anymore
05-03-2021 , 10:01 PM
Now he can keep 3 of his 6

But still pull 10/10s because of that paper boi.

It saddens me that Bill Gates is getting divorced.

It reminds of that Justin Bieber song talking about having it all, except someone to talk to

Is there ever an appropriate time to belt out a good ole' "yeeeee-hawwww"?

I've been throwing some, "Howd'y partners" around with great success and I'm thinking about mixing it up.

His divorce should awaken people who are terrified of his plans and abilities to control them.

1) In my part of the world, frequently.

2) Change the pronunciation to "podnuh" for full effect.

And what in the hell made you think that "howdy" merits an apostrophe?
05-04-2021 , 02:07 PM
Because it's a contraction of how do ye?

Last edited by Garick; 05-04-2021 at 02:08 PM. Reason: but then, does it need two apostrophese in that case?
