A gallon? You can buy a quart almost everywhere, and even a pint sometimes.

Until the date stamped on the jug, but better to throw it out a day or two ahead of that just to be safe.

Yeah, ime it starts to get funky a day or two before expiry.

I never drink a glass of milk any more, just use it in coffee mostly, so I've had milk that was like a week or two past the sell-by date and it wasn't sour. I've also had some that was a day past and was cottage cheese so ymmv I guess.

Nothing like taking a bite of USA#1 crumb cake and a chug of milk and just sloshing that **** around.

IME milk is still passable for up to a week after the sell by date, but I always start sniffing it once the date is close.

As a single I've definitely had to pitch both bread and milk.

Cow juice is the only real choice if you drink a lot of tea.

You may be having me call croutons: "Russian prison dry bread snacks" from now on. Thanks El oh El!

Whole cow milk is the only way
05-17-2017 , 10:48 AM
Yes, it's too hard to get milk from only half a cow.
05-17-2017 , 11:01 AM
I tried soy milk for the coffee and it was fine, but in terms of longevity, it's about the opposite of cow milk. You could be a week before the expiration date and adding it to coffee forms a very off-putting precipitate. I like my coffee less chewy

tbh I really only drink water/tea/coffee and alcoholic drinks

Last almond milk I purchased went bad, actually took a long time and the carton started to swell.
