This post is so bad that if I were A mod I would ban you for it

Explain. I haven't played video games on a console since Mario Kart, or at all really. I've seen other people playing modern games with the headsets and it is basically just a bunch of 14-year-olds trying to say the most offensive things they can think of.

I'd probably get another ban for obvious the joke(imo) I'm refraining from writing.

you're right that competitive online multiplayer games tend to be extremely toxic. it just wasn't a very funny joke, which is why the post was bad.

and the actual content of the video you're riffing on is the pop pop of gunshots with the terror filled screams of men in the process of being murdered. you gotta be a lot funnier if you're gonna joke about such a disturbing video

edit: I found it and tried posting it but it's just not working for me, it's just 6 seconds and at the end you see the laser on a kid that is being videoed as he plays.
The guy was wearing the special goggles that allowed him to see infrared?

I'm no longer shocked by mass shootings in the US, it just feels like the norm unfortunately.

Not even an event. Just walk into Commerce on Friday night and look how packed it is.

Parx casino outside of Philly has started checking every bag that enters the casino and the poker tournament area, which are in separate buildings (required to quickly open the large sections, not small pockets).

Except the guy didnt say he SAW a laser, he said he KNOWS he had a laser, the same way everybody else (who watched the video) KNOWS he had a laser.

You failed.

I think he realized he made a stupid post and tried to pivot it some nitty argument about how a laser is not infrared.

Heh, now imagine a bunch of late 20s drunk dudes from 2+2 talking mad **** to 11 year olds about banging theirs moms and that's who I used to game with a decade ago back in the Call of Duty's hayday. There's was even a mod who was the funniest of the bunch.

Ah, your bringing back memories lol.

Where'd this goggles thing come from? It's pretty clear you can see it without special optics if you can plainly see it in a normal video. This isn't some special ops squad with high end gear. It's some brain damaged idiot at a Madden tourney going postal.

Wrong. Some lasers are infrared. The military uses them but their night vision goggles can see them, the enemy that doesn't have nog can't see them. Neither can a schmoe playing a video game.

I think pig4bill is calling out the witness in the interview video from Post #23.

I don't know a lot about guns, but perhaps the witness/victim simply strung the two words "infrared" and "laser" together in an unscripted interview just hours after experiencing a horrific tragedy first-hand.

Going by the expert ITT (pig4bill), I suppose just "laser" would be the correct description? Is that his point?

Either way, I don't think anyone except pig4bill is calling the witness out for this.

As a fan of the Bills he should have been desensitized to losing.

Yeah, I LOL that the guy thought he knew what kind of laser the shooter had.

As far as the shooter having a laser, bfd, they're cheap.

On the surface, you see a bunch of "nerdy", highly intelligent introverts who excel at eSports who are seemingly harmless. For anyone that's ever played any form of online gaming, you know that as soon as you plug in and turn on the audio you enter a world full of extreme hate speech where you're subject to the N-word and Rape threats the entire duration of your gaming session.
yeah, just an incredibly terrible subculture on the whole

LOL I had the exact opposite experience especially gaming with other 2+2ers a decade ago. Plenty of inappropriate and messed up language and endless **** talking. You get a bunch of drunk 2+2ers playing COD and it's some of the funniest **** you ever heard. Better than any other form of comedic entertainment imo.

Lol at the pearl clutching on the same subforum that is egging on a mentally ill person in another thread to kill himself.

Most online cultures suck a lot. Gaming is no different - but there are pockets of communities that are really awesome, some not so awesome. Yea, in a game like COD that is largely populated by 14-16 year olds and run by terrible companies that don't give a damn about policing their own communities (activision), yea, it's gonna be pretty toxic.

I'd say it's probably the minority. This is a dumb derail that doesn't belong here and it's not a point that needs to be made. It has nothing to do with what happened and is why I think the original post that brought it up is terrible.
